It's not the first time it has happened, but this time the methods of initiating currency switches and asset revaluations are almost flick-of-a-switch. Stock portfolios go from dollar denom to crypto denom. Same with mutual funds. Bank accounts are fucked and get Cyprussed… but the losses will come out in the wash.

I am not too scared, so long as the energy and food markets can remain survivable, we avoid a complete apocalypse.

Satsuki is deliberately adversarial and taunting toward Ryuuko. The truth is useless to a person who can't act on it. By being the mortal adversary, Satsuki trains Ryuuko to confront an overwhelming power that preys on the human tendency to seek comfort and pleasure over the realization of ideals (pigs in human clothing).

Become the adversary they want to attack, but can never assail. This will train them how to think critically.

Everyone has been looking for a way to get off of the federal reserve system, and gold is such a small market that major interest in it drives it up into orbit. Gold derivatives are something like 1 ounce deliverable to every 300 claims… gold is kept in a liquidity crisis that prevents it from being selected by the market.

Enter crypto. Those in and of themselves threaten to completely overhaul the world economy and shatter government authority.
