Meme Makers, you may continue posting Memes in the General thread. Harvesting policy is unchanged. The only takeaway from this post is how to search using CTRL-F or Edit-Find or Command-F.

This person may be a shill fucking with Harvester.

Harvesting policy is unchanged. You are welcome to post memes in the General for feedback and comments, and to interact with anons on topics of interest. Ignore the shill who tried to throw confusion into the Meme Makers' space.

Hello Twitterfriend.

Send newbies here = bad.

Don't send people here. This is not a regular place.

Thanks for your efforts.

300 pixels width is a thumbnail – too little for applying text and having the text readable.

1500-2000 pixels width is about right for many screens. 1800 wide x 1200 pixels high is just about perfect.

4000 pixels width is very large, a wall poster. We don't need images that large for memes which will often be displayed as a thumbnail on a phone. There is no reason for the filesize to be 10 megabytes for an image, usually. A typical filesize for an image is in the range of 300-600 Kb.

Some of the large infographs need to be 4000 pixels wide or larger because lots of text and lots of content, and that is fine.

Some of the high resolution images of rocket launches, geography, etc. should remain high resolution to allow for the possibility of doing forensic analysis to figure out unobvious details within the image.

Hope that helps.

Name image files = good

If you don't name them on the General, no big deal. They will receive a name during harvest. The files in the Meme Zips are all named in a searchable way. If you download a zip file and unzip it, then you can sort the directory alphabetically and related things will sort together. We can imagine a more sophisticated image categorization system but things are simply moving too fast and accelerating. The current naming system is a KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) system that works.

Would be nice if the Meme Droppers would compare notes on what images or hashtags are trending but that's not my dept.

newfriend, you endanger yourself if you post an email address here. Spies are watching. Advice: Delete your post (the triangle left of the post). You can post again omitting the email address if you wish.
