United Blood Services is offering Waste Management Phoenix Open tickets and Streets of New York vouchers to entice donors to help meet the high demand for blood following an "especially challenging" holiday season.

"Since so many people gave blood in October in response to the Las Vegas tragedy, we have struggled getting donors to come back for the holidays, which is the most difficult time of the year to meet patient needs," said Sue Thew, a United Blood Services spokeswoman.
