Lots of planes fly a polar route over the high arctic. I would think some can see the North Pole and would let us know if there's a hole.
A hole would be disturbing since there's an ocean up there. The water would be pouring in the hole!
Antarctica is different, it's a continent. And I don't think commercial flights go over it.
