All right now I'm getting annoyed. Is there a source for this??? It's not on the OpSec website, NO WHERE to be found. Do you realize OpSec is for MILITARY USE? Is 8chan a military organization? The board is needlessly harder to use, which DETERS LURKERS from INVESTIGATING INFORMATION. And for what? To anonymize referral logs no one gives a fuck about. You guys are not that special. You're not in the Military, Wikipedia doesn't have a counter-intel task force set up to watch for your next invasion. And even if they did, so what? What are they gonna do? No non-bot CIA shill has ever been a victim of referral hijacking in /cbts/ history, in 4chan history. And until someone provides links to a tide of reports proving otherwise, I call bullshit. This is an imaginary boogeyman. Moreover there is zero justification for making this broken link bs mandatory; it should be a recommendation, not a direct order. Stop treating us like children. We are all adults here. We can choose whether we want to click a link or paste it - except, not now, we can't. You can click a working link or paste it, but you MUST PASTE a nonworking link! And if you MUST ENFORCE THIS INFANTILIZATION do it like /pol/ does and make all offsite links nonclickable, therefore you eliminate the TEDIOUS STEP of pasting the link, locating the break, moving the cursor to it, and finally deleting it. I mentioned this 3 times today, and do you know what happened? No one could explain where this rule came from, why anyone supported it personally, let alone even attempted to offer a valid refutation of my logically sound, numerous, objectively correct arguments, let alone succeeded in doing so. Instead, I triggered the shills, bots. What does that suggest? Why is this relevant? What would shills, who wish to stifle our efforts, have to gain by eliminating off-site link functionality as a feature of our site? Hypothetically, if they did manage to do this, would it make sense they would push back hard against any who so much as QUESTIONED this change?
Sorry - I'm not that mad, and I don't mean any ill will or disruption, but I really believe in this. It is so obvious to me, personally, the /cbts/ investigative potentiality would be better off, and go a lot smoother and easier, if all of those links you guys share? Weren't broke. By default. For no good reason.
Also if I'm wrong, prove it and I'll gladly fuck off. I have no horse in the race, I don't care how the BO wants run his board, particularly, I just want to know you guys haven't fallen for a meme the shills could possibly have spread.
