Yes the tunnels at the playboy mansion are known. Blueprints of the tunnel construction to celebrity homes have been posted. Also it has been said that Hefner had a SCIF underground vault there. There are multiple reasons.

The HTTP protocol has a "referrer" field. The website you depart from is inserted into your browser's HTTP request to the next website and can be captured in the destination website's logs. (This was added to the protocol to help advertisers determine where traffic is coming from.) If somebody wants to discover where 8ch is, inspecting those logs would help them. We don't want to reveal 8ch.

If somebody managed to hack this board, they could insert javascript that makes a link look like one thing so you click it, but that link might actually divert you someplace else containing malware or other harmful content.
There are other reasons but these are 2 of the major ones. It's for your safety and ours.
