Sadly, this is normal. The same thing was done when officer Keith Boyer was killed in Riverside County CA by a gang banger after a traffic accident in February of this year. I know this because I knew the officer personally and watched the whole thing live on TV. First responders came out of the woodwork to line the street for the trip from the crime scene to the ME only a few hours after the incident. There will be another, even larger procession for the funeral.
