The real problem is very, very few have been born again yet. That is what changes everything to like you say. And the time for the rebirth that now matters only started 20 years ago.
Those on this board "have their names" in the book of life (There are others too) - because a name is something we identify with and work under.
Once they see the light, that is. And even Scriptures like this must be understood in the light that NOW is - not like it has been before.
To call upon a name means to "entitle" someone or something. This means labeling and believing the present "salvation" has been found.
People also generally misunderstand the Jew and Greek reference here, because they have not yet been shown that in the new light of righteousness, it these terms merely refer to the capacities of "leader" and "general public," respectively - not to racial or cultural identities.

My point exactly. If this is your intent, you are already "entitling" (calling upon) "salvation" (which the word jesus means) what it is, and working in the name of it.
This is far more Christian than most people who call themselves Christians.

Seems to me the ultimate end of the proliferation and cooperation online is bringing it all home to local settings - that would be what makes the puzzle what it looks like eventually, and allow the filling in of the yet missing pieces for the many.

The OT teaches us what to do, symbolically.
The NT is what it looks like to others.
And the book of Romans is not written to any church.
It is also entitled the Gospel of God, which only properly useful AFTER the gospel of Christ, which is only now being birthed for the future.
Its all a matter of knowing the times and the seasons.
With each new day (and we are now in the one beyond the church age), all these matters of process unfold again anew, and create new life in man thereby.
