Beavers are used extensive here in PNW it's like the taxi of the air because of the loads it can carry, smaller planes can't take people, cargo and full fuel. It's a heavy duty work plane, one of the Seattle Seahawks has one to get to his place in the islands. Very good safety record so this seems out of place as they can land anywhere with the water.
