I dont know if this helps but I met and got to know a family member who lost a loved one in the Pentagon. She was just a regular staffer but said that where the plane/missile hit was on what was formerly the high command section. High command had moved out of that location a few weeks/months prior and non critical personnel placed there. (Publicly the construction is also been reported on in that wing)
