Q dons the atmosphere of supremmacy. He asks the questions. We ponder the answers. It is the no-nonsense sensei who you follow because you want to stand as an equal or to try and understand. He is simply doing his thing, and we will either sink or swim. It is of little difference to him.

There are a few moments where this breaks to give a bit of encouragement or remediation - but Q has the amswers we are seeking, or has at least done a damned good job of giving that impression. He is showing us how to get where he is, but is not doing it for friendship or comraderie per se.

For me, I teach people because ignorance is a disgrace and I love to see people stand at the summit of their own climb before locating yet another one to scale. If they are attached to me at the end, I have bred dependency.

Keep an eye out for Q, to be sure - but I think it defeats the purpose of Q if we sit around and wait for Q. He's not our 'friend' in a classic sense of how society thinks of it. He is closer to the boot camp instructors who give you lessons you'll remember forever, but you'll never see again in your life. Petty Officer White isn't going to come back and give me Marlinespike lessons, again. But I will always remember the difference between a line and a rope, and appreciate the role he played in my life - minor as it may have been.

Society is governed by sociopaths. This is the crux of the work "Psychopass." There are three sociopaths central to the story…er… well, I won't spoil it. Each sociopath adheres to a sort of code and is able to cast aside their emotions to act according to code - a process. Because of this, even in benevolent organizational structures, sociopaths are the most qualified to be impartial judges as they can reduce humans to utilitarian components - objects, factors, and equations.

A sociopath views conversation differently… or, perhaps, is more aware of how conversation is actually used. It's a tool. I talk to you not necessarily because I want to hear sounds. I talk to you to elicit some kind of response I value.

Depending upon one's code, it is easy to see how the objectification of communication leads to an ends-focused structure of conversation where a sociopath's mannerisms and personality will adjust rapidly and dynamically to 'program' their conversation partner into the desired reaction.

This is partly why people such as myself choose a more solitary life. It is very hard to have a partner when most people are akin to pets and you can practically engineer any of them to love you, hate you - or swing between either for idle amusement.

Q is the Life Fiber Over-ride, transformed state of some person(s). It exists for a purpose. The end of the show gives the answer to what happens to the Kamui - the clothing woven of the Red Thread of Fate. I'm sliding a bit, again - but Q may simply be an anon among us - neither the blinding light of Amaterasu, nor the single rogue within a regimented system… the person of Q may be right here with the rest of us, with the identity of Q having served its purpose - uniform and rank having lost its meaning among people all naked before the common threat.
