Its central pressure has dropped 29mb in the past 16 hours, beating the 24mb/24hrs requirement.

It gets better: In the next 8hrs, it'll drop another 23mb.

The #BombCyclone has intensified 45mb in 24 hours. This is now the most rapidly deepening East Coast winter storm since at least 1980, according to one analysis.

A second (preliminary) analysis also shows the #BombCyclone as the most rapidly deepening East Coast winter storm on record (going back to the late 1970s when satellite records begin).
