Yes. The Russian-American's I have met are generally more cultured, artistic, philosophical, well-read but more morose and fatalistic than the average or even above-average American. As a whole, they believe that we take our freedoms for granted and are more attuned to the very real machinations of the Deep State having experienced it first hand and knowing their own Country's on again, off again dance with totalitarianism. After gaining their hard won trust, they will discreetly share their stories of the subtle surveillance of their activities by the FBI when it would be better served guarding against the true threats to our Country presently on the defensive and on the run. Then again, in all fairness, one has to acknowledge the existence and ruthlessness of the criminal element of Russian emigrés in many major U.S. cities. Looking back, I regret not having reached out to befriend more Russians I have met over the years.
