You know for many years I thought of American exceptionalism as being crass and wholly untrue. I watched the corruption becoming more and more obvious as if they didn't even care to cover it up as they knew they would get away with it. I saw everything falling apart and Americans being deluded for still saying "we're No1"
Now this tired old cynical Brit is starting to believe you might end up being right all along.
