3 - woke, third eye opened (Hindu dot) (central eye imagery) , illuminated, leader, clairvoyant, pineal gland activated ( pine cone imagery)
*presumably 1 symbolizes an animal, child or subhuman person. 4th and 5th eyes are also used to denote gods and super-gods (Shiva was said to have a 5th eye) but the most common numerals used are 2 and 3.
A couple examples of how these numbers are used in occult circles:
33 - not "thirty three" but two threes, quite literally a brotherhood of 3s (see above for meaning of 3) Used most famously by freemasons but also many other groups. A large group of 3s, for example /pol/, would be written as 333.
2232 - a 3 hidden amongst 2s - think "hide your power level" (4ch) or "hidden in plain site." (Mainsteam groups) I see this used in building addresses.
322 - slavery of 2s by 3s, used by the evil fraternal order skull and bones.
