Humans are born with body and soul. When you become born again you receive Holy Spirit which makes you complete. God first designed man to have body (formed man from the ground), soul (God breathed into mans nostrils & man became a living soul), and Spirit (God made man in His image).

Read Genises it is all explained in the first three chapters.

God told Adam that if you eat of the tree you will "surely die", yet we see that Adam lived for hundreds of years. Then either God was a liar, God forbid, or something did die in Adam. It did - he lost the Spirit part of him. first thing he and eve did was to hide from God, all of a sudden they were afraid of God.

Jesus Christ gives us the ability to get that Spirit back by getting born again...
