No, but my inner tinfoil-hat wearer has always wanted to do that. All joking aside, it's good to do research this way, because physicality – in this case, working with tangible objects in proximity to one another – can help the mind make connections and organize thoughts.

Yeah, I gotcha. I've used Cmap for years and like it better than any of the proprietary mind-mappers:

Also good: XMind and Freemind. And there's yEd too, if graphs are your thing. They all have their benefits and quirks, but at least all those are free.

 

What this screams out for imho is a graph database with a food visualization front-end – but that's a major project, I think.
