This is not true. I have the Dictionary of Deities and Demons in the Bible (DDD), 1999. It specifically lists Milcom and Molech as separate deities & even notes there is confusion between the two.
In the masoretic text (MT), Milcom appears in 1 Kings 11:5,33 http://qbible. com/hebrew-old-testament/1-kings/11.html
and 2 Kings 23:13 http://qbible. com/hebrew-old-testament/2-kings/23.html.
Molech appears in 1 Kings 11:7.
