Bouvet is hell on earth. It takes 14 days to get there by boat if you leave from Punta Arenas Chile. That's why they call it the most remote island in the World. 20 of my friends are going there next month. It's Norwegian owned.
My friends that are going to Bouvet are just normal hams. This is what they do…get permission to go to deserted islands and operate ham radio. They have been to Swains, Malpelo, Wake, Palmyra, Amsterdam, Desecheo and Navassa islands. The last 2 being most suspect.
Navassa is near Haiti and owned by USFW (US fish&wildlife). It took USFW 15 years before they gave the guys permission to go there. It was only on condition of team paying the way for armed USFW guys to escort them. Look near the lighthouse. There is a large bottomless hole. You can drop whatever down that thing.
Desecheo is also owned by USFW. The hams were roped in to a certain area because of unexploded munitions on the rest of the island. Same thing with waiting 10 years for SUP and armed USFW escorts.
