Surprisingly, not much has changed.

The protocols used today (e.g., handoffs, ghosting, global notables) were pretty well established during the 8ch /qr/ iteration of the board.

Notetakers are better respected now - used to be a case of "a Baker can hold his own dick", but with the acceleration of breads at 8ch's heyday and the re-establishment of Anons here, keeping the note flowing - Baker or not - is that much more meaningful.

>>11123

That said, for a while, the Notetakers were a bit of a chaotic element.

It came down to some shills highlighting "muh notes are different from the Notables wahhh".

Not a fun time.

Things have significantly improved on that front with better coordination and understanding.

>>11139

Water under the bridge indeed.

Evolution post-August re: Bakers/Notetakers is quite solid.

Marked improvement from earlier days, especially with increasing bread volume.

>cautious about re-surfacing

Huh. Same here lol

Either way, given the recent discussions re: Notables Creek, caution makes sense.

Wasn't present for it, but reading the Q post addressing FJ… that put a smile on my face.

Also a good one.

Been reading up on the past year - plenty of catching up to do.

FJ seems to have gone full laissez-faire.

Same with the BV's (whoever they are now) - for the best, ultimately.

Quiet operation is ideal.

Someone earlier spoke the real truth - Q is the ultimate canary in coal mine.

Just ask Baruch and Pamphlet lol

Shills likely thought you were DB for two reasons:

  1. The time of day you operated.

  2. Confusion on their end between you and him.

If you were more active April-August 2019, that would also do it.

>>11246

Hahaha, AFLB has been around for a long time, with different bizarre iterations.

Would invoke other names, but that would certainly jinx shit and trigger more/different bots.

Then yeah, might've been why.

Post-April 2019 was a weird time for many, many reasons.

>>11260

RGB is a damn legend.

Always a good handoff, usually showed up in the late mornings/early afternoon.

Made the kitchen super comfy.

Amen.

Can't bake nearly as frequently as before, but in whenever possible.

>>11299

This class is a great approach to the ever-present problem of getting new Bakers rolling.

Shills will always attack Anons learning how to keep things rolling. Fuck 'em.

All is chill here; Rusty (and all y'all, really) has a good knack for community and encouragement.

It was a shaky year, even going into April that year.

Missed the four months leading up to August entirely, and wasn't able to check in when things fired up here (8kun) owing to overseas presence.

Fortunately in a place where I can better serve.

Hope things are well on your end.

Plenty of reasons why it wasn't a good time on this end.

Likely wasn't just shills giving you flak when calling you "DB".

Events surrounding late March/early April, both on and off the board, warranted departure on this end.

As such, I owe you an apology - you shouldn't have taken flak from those vainglorious clowns on my behalf. Please forgive me.

No worries, man - didn't feel "on the spot".

>brand new last April

That's why. Damn.

Both shills and the 5th column discussed a couple weeks ago must've assumed too much after my departure/your arrival.

Not surprising.

Still, good on you for weathering that shit.

Again, if there's more you want to know about the earlier times, say the word.

Can't bake as often, but history and remembrance is important.

Rest easy, man.

Re: shills:

Not really a way to "defuse" shills beyond outright ignoring them.

Shills will always attack any preservation efforts, especially places outside the General.

Community == preservation, which makes a board like this one, where Anons can learn to bake, all the more valuable.

Moreover, shills/5th column fuckweasels absolutely despise Bakers as elements they cannot comprehend or control.

Granted, Bakers are not infallible, but a shill will sooner have Anons paranoid about a Baker than paranoid about them.

It was this kind of paranoia/deflection (among other things) that resulted in March/April 2019.

You picked one hell of a time to start kicking ass, man.
