Welcome To Baking Class
Thank you for stepping up to help the kitchen and for coming to the class. Respect.
The class is informal and relaxed. Feel free to ask questions, shout out if or when you're stuck / need some help and remember, there are no dumb questions, ever.
There's usually plenty of flour flying around so feel free to mess up. It's how we learn.
One of our bakers usually instructs (m'self today), while GYB facilitates the Q&A and discussions. Regular bakers are also usually in-thread (dropping in when they can), helping to answering the Q&As.
Soโฆ.. feel free to ask any questions about anything regarding baking, even if you're not learing to bake today.
We are all here dedicating our time to teach you and pass on our knowledge to you, new bakers. We want to help you in whichever way we can. Please give us feedback and let us know how we can.
Once you decide you're ready to bake, we will all continue to help you, so don't feel you'll be out on your own in the wild west.

Baking Class #13
Class #13 will be a 'Forensics' presentation, where we'll be looking at 8kun forensics and the tools we can use to investigate and look back.
Forensics are completely different from baking however for seasoned bakers they're extremely useful skillz.
Practical Baking Sesh
We'll also have a practical baking session for anons wishing to learn to bake (with a new range of slides and videos) and the usual baking QnA with the bakers.
For Anons Who Would Like to Bake Tonight
The teaching slides and videos here will take you step by step through the baking process.
Give them a watch and make your own practice thread here in comms as you do.

Thanks anon, I saw the dough formatting all changed after CM made the formatting changes.
Have been trying to re-format the dough and as as you say, โ aren't rendering ok.
I was taking lines from Q posts but that was tricky, ended up using clear spaces.
Any ideas for what's best?
8kun Forensics
I thought today we could talk about 8kun forensics and hopefuly learn from each other along the way.
The idea of looking through something together in order to solve a puzzle seems fitting for us QRfags, and something I thought you'd all enjoy.
Forensics are completely different from baking, however for seasoned bakers they're extremely useful skillz.
And so, as we have a subject, this evening we'll be working together to solve the slow infiltration of the QR dough which culumated last week and learning which tools we can use to aid us in any forensics dig.
Please make yourselves comfy, have our Q&A as always, ask and answer questions, chat about baking if you wish and I'll post away for you to follow the puzzle or come back to it later.

I pondered whether to do this presentation or not and weighed the pros and cons. The pros came out on top, them being we'd possibly learn and hone our skillz, and build further resilience. Doing it would take it into the light, we'd have a clear picture, and all be aware of what happened and can happen.
It's definitely not intended to make any of our bakers feel bad just because they thought others had good intentions. Slipping bad pastes to the baker has always been a shill thing since Oct 17.
I'll start with a tale of a rookie baker, back in a blazing kitchen in the first month of Q. There were attempts to slip bad pastes to the bakers at least once every day as what seemed like dozens of factions were fighting to 'own the dough' and inject things such as wrong links to the SpreadSheet or links to Q posts in previous threads. Back then the SS was the only external repository of Q's posts apart from the graphics.
It was indeed the wild wild west.
Funny Self Depreciating Story Of Olde
One night Q was dropping carpet bombs and the bread and kitchen were ablaze.
It felt like shills outnumbered us 6 or 7 to 1. Baker here was caught with having a tainted dough, not knowing what to do to revert, or who to trust to give them a good one.
Someone appeared and offered a 'clean paste', and guess what. That baker took a paste from a dude flashing pic related.

When his injection was good the shill was happy and thanked me by posting me posting me video related or something like it. Baker was like 'A', be in the military now.

Yes that was this baker. Can you imagine muh feelz when I realized I'd been duped. I felt like a real fool, that I can tell you.
So as bad as it gets folks, the mistakes we make and learn from, just remember that you didn't take a dupe paste from a dude in an NSA jacket.

Newanon proceeded to post about dough changes they were making and ask for feedback.
Bakers and anons mostly ignored and eventually told them to stop.

Tools Used
How did we get back to that thread to find out what happened?
We look at threads from around 10 back.
If they're not changed we can look at threads further back.
If they're changed we can look at more recent threads until we can find where the changes took place.
Use 'ctrl+f' to search for keywords such as 'update' 'dough' pastebin' are a start.
When you located an interesting post, copy the UID (user ID), hit Ctrl+F and paste it into the search box.
Use your vertical keyboard keys to scroll through that users posts.
You can find previous QR General threads, even those which have fallen off the catalog at
qresear.ch anon
Bring it up anon and try it out.
Say you're looking for General #100502. Do a search there for 100502 and you'll find it.
You can always search for phrases you remember from a conversation or a dig.
qresear.ch has all the General threads archived, so it's a goldmine for digz and as we're doing here, forensics.
Who Benefits?
To dig further into who wanted to change the dough we look at 'who benefits?'
In this example, if we look at what was changed, the third dough section was concentrated on and reworked to make much more room.
Who would benefit from this? Who has been pushing to get more material into the dough for the past month? Endchan's war room?
So let's take a look over at Endchan. The links to their boards were in their War Room thread.

Here's what was found in pics related alongside the Baking Class thread.
It was found that anons in Endchan were scheming to get their ops into the QR dough by infiltrating and pressurizing the kitchen.

*How can we go back to the beginning?
Say we want to find out when the Endchan War Room Thread started. How do we find out?
Hopefully you'll all share which method you use as well. Here's what I do -
Go to qresear.ch and search for 'War Room' or 'Current OPS', which is the heading they added their OPs to in the dough.
Scroll down to the last entry on the page (this will be the first time it appeared in the dough)
Open the link in a new tab
Check the thread number and if it was the old War Room data or revised

Previous to this the dough had the old war room info, 'Current Opperations' linked to the Romania thread and there was no 'Newfag Resources' section.
In that thread, War Room made an announcement -

How's everyone doing?
Following along? Is it interesing, or boring? Are you learning anything new? I hope so.
It is pretty hard to pin down changes before we bake, however we can check for changes. Know your dough, spend time looking through it. Once you've done that any changes are easily seen with a quick scan.
Personal Note
Just want to say that I'm not against dough changes, we've always evolved and changed for the better for all.
However like it was done here, no.
Last Part
In the last part we'll take a look at the posts newanon made as a way of working out what happened.
Again, this was done using Ctrl+F and scrolling through their posts.

Glad to hear it anon. Well done on finding that.
I looked into it also and believe the same anon/s added the Newfag Resource section to make room in the dough only, as a filler they new no-one was bothered about, so they could remove it later as they did.
I believe they added that section.
