Seasons Greetings o7 The Dog Days are afoot..
still relocating devices.. just moved the current ap again because I promptly lost the net after posting, lol.. I think the ap radio is dying, get 3 bars with the re-relocation, still drops.. New one still hasnt come in yet :(
o7
things are always mad keks in the gulch :D
good evening sir.. I've got a (marginally) better connection than the last time we crossed paths..heh
I usually do this if a new dig references a previous one explicitly; the anons are pretty good at telling me when this is the case on my shifts..
me too.. not surprised, it's a low end consumer grade router that's was re-purposed into a lan repeater.. sat in a hot garage for the last month.. I'm waiting for a purpose-built repeaterโฆ I can't put the main ap any closer to the out building either because it's attached to my media server, kek..
>gy comms.
kek, my usual tactic is to try to get it as close to 5a with as fresh a bread as possible before the sandman calls. at least that way wakes gets a chance at picking up a ghost instead of asking for a scrape on an ebakeโฆ
>9) at next bread dough, not sure where anon was, but I posted baker seeks handoff, thinking they are waiting
>10) anon posts acknowledged, but doesn't tag dough or identify themselves
>11) I think hmmm, dis a shill, noob, or?
>12) I don't say anything and wait, cuz was just gonna keep baking waiting for better comms
>13) Another baker offers to take the handoff with clear comms
>14) I handoff
>Not sure, but I think someone claimed I was shill baker, cuz didn't post notes (I think they were referring to the original notes anon posted when responding to me saying I need a ciggy and hungry)
I don't see what you did wrong. On duty baker reserves the right to choose a successor. They can whine all they want. It's been that way since /cbts/
heheh I saw that one go down, that's why I commented.. if they were serious they would have thrown colors to prove it instead of just whining because muh goodcommbaker got the bake ;)
in my records, a the least amount of posts that can happen for a 'successful' handoff is 3 minimum, and that is if incoming baker just posts an earlies bun in place of the final by-the-book ack.
So it's usually four posts minimum:
1) seeking relief
2) new advertise
3) handoff
4) acknowledged.
I have a very hands off style of baking; the anons always tell me what to put in notes. they may or mey not realize that it's happening, because my notes usually track anons calling out 'notable' very closely, due to posting the notes updates very often.
It makes it so that from my chair, I'm having a conversation with every anon in the bread, every time I bake. It's har dto quantify because.. the anons tell me, I don't ask them. I don't have to.
>claims of hands-off
I know it doesn't look like it because posting the note rolls very often seems counter-intuitive to that aim.. But it seems to work well at keeping gy threads in motion :D
>asking q's about it (assuming bake is slow enough). Or making comments if you have any.
This is good. My own method is to try to comment on some of the things that end up in notes to the op, to see if anons chew on the topic more to make it into a dig. I'd estimate at least half of the digs have happened that way, just from anons hashing out stuff that floats and notes.
>Kind of like a dance, kek.
Exactly like a dance, a great dialogue, a symphony, kekek
seen.. had to abort a handoff that day.. Couldn't tell if it was my own woes or 8's
Both apparently, KEK
but what software? I looked at httptrack and it kind of sucks a littleโฆ so I looked at wget, seems like it could work with the right settings.. but I'm a nub
I'm using mozarchiver right now for my board, saving to MAFF file type, and expanding the images to get around the "only get the thumbnails local" shortcoming of that method.. MAFF == a fancy viewable xip file, literally..
that's not suitable for some of the things I want to archive though. thoughts re: gwet?
>How do I stabilize my computer to minimize these issues?
8kun lag issues: is what it is
rig issues, stuff I've had to do to get stable:
uninstall all bakershit that is legit installed through the app installer thing on your rig
get a browser cleaner and use it
get rid of all unneeded run at boot shit
reinstall all your baking shit from scratch
profit.
extra points:
make a baking rig vm in virtualbox.
store all evidence off-vm.
if it dies, delete it and spin up a freshie. โ this is what I do, now.
>I could sense you did and wanted to cover you.
>They're like omg wtf are you baking?
<Fuck off, I'm baking
This is why you get my respect as an anon. They don't need to understand the comms o7
Shadilay o7
I did gy ebakes for almost 3 months before I said fuck it and tagged up to bake full-style. worked out pretty guud.. everyone learns differnet
>But if you do it, DO IT IMMEDIATELY, before bread 'takes off.' (would say within 25 posts)
Would go one further, and say: If you have generated a dough post, and thus technically "completed the bake (in the eyes of all the aggregators aspecially).. It is too late for a redo; you are only creating more work for others, by doing it.
So this is something that starts to smell shill if it continues for any longer than the very first time it happens (and gets called out), fwiw. Anons aren't stupid, even if they do not bake, they understand what wasted resources are.
I didn't do anything but shitpost a little last night. WNB and NB were the mvps overnight this weekend.
And I quote:
I'm not going to point out any given baker concerning the most recent drama in the big stream, just gonna relate to the pervasive personal feel that many of the recent Q drops are still providing messages to the kitchen, re: the recent influx ofโฆ Interest in the kitchen itself..
No, not any one baker in the kitchโฆ The entire kitch, as one unit; the good, the bad, and the ugly. Even the fucken cat. Not gonna get into the details; It's been brought up only recently by others, the concepts are already on qanon.pub re: asymmetrical invasion. Go discern ;)
