In launching his campaign, Watkins has begun to distance himself from QAnon, going so far as to claim he is not associated with the movement, however, he still was the headlining speaker at a QAnon conference in Las Vegas with other Arizona candidates.
Brennan, the former administrator of 8chan firmly believes that either Ron or Jim Watkins were the ones behind the QAnon posts, though both men have firmly denied being involved with the postings.

The BuzzFeed News app has sent its final notification.
Amid growing cost cuts and newsroom turmoil, the company announced late Friday that it was shuttering the app.
“Well, folks, today’s the last day of the BuzzFeed News app. Thanks for the memories and see y’all out there,” the message read.
News of the app’s demise became known earlier this week in a push alert from the company, which told users they could continue to follow whatever news content the company was still putting out on their regular BuzzFeed app.
The company, which began life as a platform for memes, listicles and funny cat videos, had expanded into more serious reporting in recent years, but long struggled to make its hard news division profitable. BuzzFeed News loses roughly $10 million a year and top investors in the company have urged CEO Jonah Peretti to shut it down entirely, CNBC reported last month.

Immigration and customs officers arrested Greer in April 2016 on charges of receipt and possession of child pornography. He was released on bond the next day and was under pretrial supervision with an ankle monitor while living with his grandmother in Des Moines.
On May 31, 2016, Greer’s probation officer received an alert showing that Greer’s ankle monitor had been released. During a search, Greer’s vehicle was found with a suicide note inside, but his body was not found.

A veteran New York state judge killed himself less than two weeks after his home was raided by investigators, according to one of his attorneys.
John Michalski, an acting justice on the Erie County Supreme Court, died by suicide Tuesday at his Amherst home, where federal and state law enforcement officers had executed a search warrant 12 days earlier, the Buffalo News reported. He was 61.
“It’s heartbreaking,” defense attorney Terrence Connors told the newspaper. “He was such a good guy. This just didn’t have to happen.”
Michalski, who was appointed to the New York Court of Claims, and as an acting Supreme Court justice in 2006, had been eyed by investigators for years, but no criminal charges were ever filed against him. His looming legal woes seemed to be “manageable,” Connors told the newspaper.

SEATTLE - The Washington state Department of Health has confirmed at least four other Washingtonians died from COVID complications before or on Feb. 28, 2020 — the date the first known death in Washington and the U.S. was announced.
In a recent review of the state’s earliest COVID-19 deaths, three people who died before the initial announcement were from long-term care facility Life Care Center of Kirkland, the site of the first known U.S. coronavirus outbreak, The Seattle Times reported.
State health officials now believe the first person to die in Washington was a Snohomish County woman in her 30s.

SEATTLE — King County Executive Dow Constantine has announced three candidates to be the county’s next top law enforcement officer, including the county’s interim sheriff.
According to a published report in the Seattle Times, the finalists are King County interim Sheriff Patti Cole-Tindall; Charles Kimble, chief of police in Killeen, Texas; and Reginald Moorman, a major in the Atlanta Police Department.
Constantine’s office said the county’s nationwide search, launched last fall, yielded 12 applicants.
Of those 12, seven completed a round of interviews.
Constantine said in a prepared statement that the finalists were well qualified and that he was eager to hear from the public and Sheriff's Office employees before appointing the next sheriff.

It is really REALLY BAD here. Running errands today it was head on a swivel…head on a swivel. Even on the freeway I was looking out as there have been NUMEROUS drive by shootings on the freeways. Several near my home, 10 mins or so away. The one last weekend that caused a major crash was a rolling rival gang shootout on I-5.

KENT, Wash. — One person is dead after a shooting at Hillcrest Burial Park in Kent.
Police were called at around 5:30 p.m. to the 1000 block of Reiten Road for a reported shooting.
Police have not said what led to the fatal shooting or whether a suspect was taken into custody.

This week was assigned the lowest score on record of a 25 out of 100 on the Seattle Police Officers Guild's public safety index, which was implemented early this year.
The public safety index is calculated based on publicly available crime data and staffing information such as how many officers are available for the community and how many officers have separated. The number also comes from internal polling from each precinct.
Mike Solan, the president of the Seattle Police Officers Guild, says the data is used to show a number that is indicative of the public safety in the city.
At press time, the week had seen four homicides, 10 shootings, 11 assaults and 10 robberies. As crime rates increase, the number of officers in the force have decreased. Since the start of 2022, 43 officers have left SPD. Solan says many officers have left due in part to the defunding of the police force.

SEATTLE — A Ukrainian man who served as a high-level hacker in a ring that stole more than 20 million credit and debit card records, causing an estimated $1 billion in losses, has been sentenced to five years in prison.
Denys Iarmak, 32, is the third member of the hacking group FIN7 to be sentenced in the U.S.
He was arrested in Bangkok in November 2019 at the request of federal investigators.
FIN7 breached the computer networks and point-of-sale terminals of thousands of businesses in all 50 states.
Investigators say Iarmak was involved from approximately November 2016 through November 2018.
He used project management software to coordinate FIN7 hacking efforts.

SEATTLE - When the COVID-19 pandemic initially hit in March 2020, King County shelled out $350 million in rental assistance to tenants and landlords.
In order to make the process of distributing funds easier, the county inadvertently spent millions on funds that are being investigated as "inappropriate" payments.
Applicants had to fill out a one-page declaration that included a checkbox for applicants to affirm that they would lose their housing if they did not get rental assistance.
Then all they had to do was fill out a name, number of people in the household, and income total and a signature.
The form says King County ‘may’ verify the income and repayment would be required if the information is falsified. There is also a signature line for a caseworker to make the form complete.
Nearly 35,000 people filled out the form and got some financial assistance, according to Leo Flor, the Director of the Department of Community and Health Services (DCHS) for the county.
The majority of the money was COVID-19 relief funding and all federal handouts required a paper trail by the local governments who receive it.
When King County started looking at the money it was handing out, it discovered many ‘inappropriate’ payments, Flor said.
