Any one unaware of further means of communication aside from sign language, proxemics and spoken utterance will likely become the outliers in time.
However if someone is seeing a talking floating invisible unicorn in the room and noone else can that is somewhat a different story.
Precisely - the confusion and reactions gives the Cues needed for confirmation or otherwise. Of course there are always those that are primed against it.
and those that prey on it.
