Well the custom_tripcode doesn't go through salt. so if they changed the salt and q posted, it would have just worked.
What if CM just used custom_tripcode to setup q's tripcode. then salt rotation wouldnt matter. wouldnt be very secure but it would work. Maybe q's password is very long
