It was a shitty homemade "shotgun", probably with homemade ammo of unknown type.

This video shows the homemade improvised firearm.

It looks like 2 pieces of Steel EMT or similar pipe,

with end caps on back end where ammo loaded.

It looks to have a wire coming out of the end caps,

possibly an electronic device used to fire the "bullets" instead of hammer/fire pin.

Also a shit load (scientific term) of black electrical tape used to wrap the weapon.

Hard to tell gauge or caliber, but I guess less than .50 caliber.
