Twitter and Facebook will answer for fakes about the operation in Ukraine

Users of social networks Twitter and Facebook - report failures in the operation of services. For a long time, resources were required to remove content prohibited in Russia. But there was no answer. Social media continues to spread misinformation.

Fakes about a special military operation, about the methods of warfare. Allegedly about attacks on civilians and casualties among Ukrainians, as well as unrealistically large-scale losses of our military. This is what the Twitter information field looks like.

Here is one of the fakes: in the description, hundreds of African and Indian students from Ukrainian universities are allegedly unable to leave the country due to the actions of Russian troops. In fact, the students faced the racism of the Ukrainian and Polish border guards. Our military helped them get there, and they were kept at the border for hours.

As a result, Twitter cannot be opened through a browser. The social network ignored the demands of the authorities to stop destructive information. And besides, it has become a weapon of Western propaganda. Now the Russian information space is ignoring Twitter.

"There have been many claims against Twitter for many years and Twitter is one of the platforms where they diligently ignored any attempts to enter into a mutually beneficial dialogue in order to start deleting fake information on the territory of the Russian Federation. All kinds of drugs with terrorism with suicide Twitter ignored this and pretended to that Russia does not exist in the legal field," said Timofei Vi, deputy head of the analytical service of ANO Dialog.

On Friday night, the network noticed that Facebook was also working intermittently. According to Downdetector, up to sixty percent of users have experienced login issues.

Now the social network is not available if you try to enter through the website. So far, there have been no official statements from Roskomnadzor about what is happening with the social network.

Previously, the agency limited the speed of the platform. The reason is the failure to comply with the requirements of the regulator. Facebook blocked Russian media accounts and ignored all signals to remove these blocks. It looks like Roskomnadzor is taking the next step.

"The first step is forcing people into the digital world. This is slowing down traffic. The second step is to stop financial transactions - advertising revenue. Moreover, we must understand that Meta Corporation in Russia earns a lot of money - it's not only Facebook, it's Instagram. And the third a step is blocking,” explained Alexander Malkevich, First Deputy Chairman of the Commission of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Information Society, Mass Media and Mass Communications.

Facebook created a different universe of lies about Russian everyday life. Under the guise of advertising, he showed Ukrainian military propaganda. Every day, Western interests spent a million and 800 thousand dollars on such advertising in Russia and Belarus. The slowdown in traffic cooled the ardor. But only here, on the English-speaking audience, anti-Russian propaganda fires from all weapons and it takes up to 5 million dollars a day. Yes, and where? Facebook and Twitter are among the most unpopular social networks in Russia. Facebook is in seventh place, Twitter closes the top ten. Against the backdrop of an aggressive information war, many have already stopped using these platforms.

“If these channels are not under our control and do not belong to us, then accordingly, we will have problems, we have been talking about this for five years. there is, this one and VKontakte, and Telegram as a messenger," Andrey Golov, CEO of the company for the development of software and hardware information security, recalled.

However, hostile ads appeared on YouTube. Only Google came out with a statement that so far all advertising in Russia on its services is suspended. I wonder if political and military appeals will disappear?
