I remember the summer of 78. I was 8 years old. Star Wars had come out the previous year. My brothers and their friends were hanging out in front of our house here in NJ wearing roughed up jeans and tank tops, playing the cars first album on either 8 track or cassette tape in their Chevy Malibu with the door wide open. I was sitting on my bicycle in our stone driveway hearing this song for the first time while my brothers and their friends were talking and laughing it up, having a good time. It was late afternoon and life was new and there was a cheer in the air I could feel more than describe. We didn't have smartphones or LCD big screen TV's or even cable yet. Just a black and white tv with pong hooked up to it and a record player stereo with big speakers. Simple days.
