I may be one of the only anons here that is not a baker, but I was thinking:
What if we just had a board called /breadbox/ and set it up for posting pdf's of the dough? Would that work well enough?

Yes you could archive somewhere else, as well as store them on your hard drive, and you wouldn't need an account or depend on other websites.
Not being a baker, maybe I am missing something and there is a reason it can't be done that way, not sure.
