White House Orders US Carrier Strike Group To Stay Near Taiwan Longer Than Planned, Says China 'Overreacting'(ZeroHedge.com)
Update(1718ET): The United States says it's watching ongoing Chinese military drills around Taiwan very closely, while condemning the latest series of ballistic missiles fired over the island as a severe provocation and escalation. The White House has ordered the Ronald Reagan carrier strike group to stay in the area.
US National Security Council (NSC) spokesman John Kirby said in statements to MSNBC Thursday: "We’ve been watching this very, very closely. It’s concerning. It’s not just concerning to us, but it’s concerning, of course, to the people of Taiwan. It’s concerning to to our allies in the region, especially Japan."
"The provocateur here is Beijing. They didn’t have to react this way to what is completely normal travel by congressional members to Taiwan…The Chinese are the ones who are escalating this," Kirby added. He warned further, "One of the things that’s troublesome about exercises like this or missile launches like this is the risk of calculation, the risk of a mistake that could actually lead to some sort of conflict," he said.
Kirby in a press briefing at the White House also said it's Beijing that "chose to overreact" to Nancy Pelosi's visit:
"We condemn these actions, which are irresponsible and at odds with our long-standing goal of maintaining peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait and in the region," Kirby told reporters at the White House. "China has chosen to overreact and use the speaker's visit as a pretext to increase provocative military activity in and around the Taiwan Strait."
Both Taiwan officials, but more importantly Chinese officials and state media have acknowledged that effectively a blockade of the self-ruled island is in progress.
And somewhat alarming for the prospect of 'inadvertent' aggression between the PLA and US navies, Kirmy affirmed that the USS Ronald Reagan carrier strike group plans to continue 'freedom of navigation' maneuvers through the Taiwan Strait.

On Thursday, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin ordered the USS Ronald Reagan aircraft carrier and its strike group "to remain in the general area to monitor the situation," Kirby said.
"They'll be there for a little bit longer than they were originally planned," said Kirby. "I won't get ahead of the ship's schedule but the president believed it was a prudent thing to do, to leave her and her escort ships there just a little bit longer."
The U.S. will also conduct "standard air and maritime transits through the Taiwan Strait in the next few weeks, consistent with our long-standing approach to defending the freedom of the seas and international law," he added.

So the strike group will linger longer as the PLA conducts unprecedented in size live fire drills, which will only increase the chances of an 'incident' between the two rival superpowers as Taiwan's population continues to be on edge.

Update(11:17ET): In another ominous sign signaling China intends to escalate its threatening and retaliatory military drills now encircling Taiwan, state-run Global Times has cited a source saying that a PLA aircraft carrier group with a nuclear-powered submarine has now joined the ongoing exercises off Taiwan.
Additionally, the English-language government mouthpiece GT is now calling the five-day drill that have commenced a rehearsal for a "reunification operation" - and says that after Pelosi's provocative and damaging visit, "exercises blockading" Taiwan are to "become routine".
This as Japan's Foreign Ministry has said Thursday evening (local time) that five missiles fired by China have landed within Japan's exclusive economic zone (EEZ). Taiwan's defense ministry, has meanwhile said 22 more Chinese air force jets have buzzed its airspace.
Further, videos of the PLA firing missiles over Taiwan are now circulating on social media, appearing to show local citizens in some locales filming and watching as if it's a patriotic spectacle…
The PRC government has also released official footage of some of its latest ballistic missile launches which landed in waters off the self-ruled island…
Beijing is also threatening tougher sanctions to come against Taipei, in order to squeeze the pro-independence movement in Taipei. GT frames the latest economic punishment measures as follows:
Following the Chinese mainland's suspension of imports of several agricultural products from the island of Taiwan, which is viewed as a sort of punishing fallout from US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit, residents from the island's agricultural and business sectors, as well as some local netizens, have expressed dissatisfaction with the secessionist Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), given the close connection between the island and the huge mainland market.
Starting on Wednesday, Chinese mainland customs authorities suspended the entry of citrus fruits including grapefruits, lemons and oranges, as well as two types of fish (chilled large head hairtail and frozen horse mackerel) from the island, in accordance with regulations and food safety requirements.
China is saying this is only the beginning of the 5-day military exercises, identifying major military assets that have joined, including the following:
J-20 stealth fighter jets
H-6K bombers, J-11 fighter jets
Type 052D destroyer
Type 056A corvette
DF-11 short-range ballistic missiles
Early warning aircraft
DF-17 hypersonic missiles.

China has kicked off its latest round of war drills Thursday aimed at encircling and pressuring Taiwan in the wake of this week's House Speaker Nancy Pelosi visit to the self-ruled island, the day after she departed and continued on her Asia tour to South Korea.
According to China's People's Daily, this has included PLA command dispatching "hundreds" of fighter jets to enter airspace off the northern, southwestern and southeastern airspaces of the island, at a moment Taiwan's defense forces are on a heightened state of alert. On Wednesday some half a dozen jets were reported as having breached the 'median line' separating the Taiwan Strait. Beijing is promising in essence this is only the beginning.
And more alarming, China launched a series of ballistic missiles into waters off Taiwan, with some having flown over the island. "Taiwan has confirmed that mainland China launched 11 Dongfeng series missiles into waters north, south and east of the island on Thursday afternoon, a day after US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi left Taipei," South China Morning Post reports.
"The island’s defence ministry said the 11 DF series missiles were fired between 1.56pm and 4pm. It is the first time mainland missiles have flown over the island."
Taipei's defense ministry immediately condemned the severe provocation: "The defence ministry condemned the irrational actions to undermine regional peace," a statement said. Taiwan further called on Beijing to be "self-restrained".

Taiwanese media outlets are reporting of the unprecedented missile flyover of the island:
People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Eastern Theater Command Spokesman Shi Yi that afternoon announced that the PLA's Eastern Theater Command Rocket Force launched a "multi-regional and multi-model exercise" in the waters off the coast of eastern Taiwan, according to China's state-run TV broadcaster CCTV. Shi claimed that the guided missiles all "hit their targets accurately."

Earlier, it [Taiwan's military] revealed suspected Chinese drones had flown above the Kinmen Islands, Taiwanese territory off China’s southeastern coast, and it had fired flares to drive them away.
Major General Chang Zone-sung of the military’s Kinmen Defense Command told the Reuters news agency that the Chinese drones came in a pair and flew into the Kinmen area twice on Wednesday night, at about 9pm (13:00 GMT) and 10pm (14:00 GMT).
Warning flared were then fired: “We immediately fired flares to issue warnings and to drive them away. After that, they turned around. They came into our restricted area and that’s why we dispersed them,” the Taiwanese general said.
While China had quickly started snap drills as Pelosi's Air Force plane - reportedly with US fighter jet escort - landed in Taipei earlier this week, Thursday marks the start of more expansive live-fire drills around the whole island, slated to last five days.
The next five days will include live-fire drills and missile tests surrounding the island in these reported locations, as detailed in Chinese state media publications…
Meanwhile, China is furious over a prior day Group of Seven (G7) statement condemning its military drills. The G7 warned Beijing not to use Pelosi's visit as "pretext for aggressive military activity in the Taiwan Strait".
In protest, China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi has within the last hours canceled what was to be a face-to-face summit with his Japanese counterpart. At the same time increased cyberattacks are being reported against Taiwan government websites in local media.

DeSantis Sends Cops To Physically Remove Suspended 'Soros-Backed' State Attorney(ZeroHedge.com)
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has suspended State Attorney Andrew Warren for 'picking and choosing which laws to enforce based on his personal agenda,' and has appointed Susan Lopez as his replacement during the suspension.
Warren, who had served the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit, has most recently refused to follow state policy criminalizing abortion in the wake of the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade - and repeatedly refused to enforce laws cracking down on child sex-change surgeries, according to DeSantis.
The liberal state attorney also declined to prosecute 67 protesters arrested in George Floyd demonstrations, and said in 2017 that he would only pursue the death penalty "in the very worst cases," and not where "mental illness played a role."
"We are suspending Soros-backed 13th circuit state attorney Andrew Warren for neglecting his duties as he pledges not to uphold the laws of the state," DeSantis' office said in a statement, per Fox News.
Update: DeSantis sent state police to physically remove Warren from his office, "with access only to retrieve his personal belongings, and (ii) to ensure that no files, papers, documents, notes, records, computers, or removable storage media are removed from the Office of the State Attorney…"
DeSantis made the announcement at a Thursday press conference surrounded by Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody and others.
"The constitution of Florida has vested the veto power in the governor, not in individual state attorneys," DeSantis said. "so, when you flagrantly violate your oath of office .. when you make yourself above the law, you have violated your duty and you have neglected your duty, and you are displaying a lack of competence to be able to perform those duties," he continued.
"And so today we are suspending state attorney Andrew Warren, effective immediately," DeSantis concluded to applause.
DeSantis' office issued a statement regarding the suspension.
"This isn't about abortion or any one thing, it's about having accountability to our system of law and order to prosecute crime. There has been a pattern developing in Hillsborough County where one person picks and chooses which laws he wishes to enforce," DeSantis' office stated.
MEANWHILE - ousted San Francisco "Soros" DA Chesa Boudin announced on Thursday that he won't seek to regain his position in November after being ousted in a June recall.

UN Secretary-General Blames Global Economic Crisis On Ukraine War(ZeroHedge.com)
NATO governments and globalist institutions have put on a good show acting as if they hate Putin and the Russian advance in Ukraine, but the reality is that the war acts as an all encompassing distraction from the greater agenda at hand. It offers globalist organizations, western politicians and central banks a perfect scapegoat for the ongoing economic instability caused by THEIR policies.
As anyone that follows alternative economic knows, the stagflationary crisis that is escalating today was triggered well before the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Price inflation was hitting 40 year highs in December of 2021, months before the war started. Gas prices were skyrocketing long before sanctions on Russia were ever implemented, climbing from an average of $2.20 per gallon in November of 2020 to $5 per gallon in June of 2022. That's more than a 100% increase in less than two years and most of it occurred before Ukraine was an issue.
What really caused stagflation? It's a process initiated by central bank stimulus that the alternative media has been warning about for many years. The real culprits are central bankers and the politicians that align with them. The world has been awash in fiat money as a means to prolong economic corrections that should have been allowed to run their course a long time ago. Instead, bankers sought to artificially prop up the system and funnel money into “too big to fail” corporations along with the too big to fail stock markets. Now, of course, things are changing.
The inevitable Catch-22 dynamic has come into play – Central banks can continue to print and keep interest rates near zero, but inflation will rapidly expand, making all their efforts pointless as rising costs lead to plummeting demand. Or, they can stop all stimulus and hike interest rates to stall the inflationary disaster, but still collapse markets, employment numbers and consumer demand. The bottom line is that there is no path to a soft landing; it simply doesn't exist.
The covid pandemic was really the straw that broke the camel's back – Not because of the virus, but because of the RESPONSE to the virus. The authoritarian lockdowns and the subsequent covid stimulus packages poured gasoline on the economic fire. With over $6 trillion of helicopter money pumped into the US system in a single year, the system that was on the verge of implosion is now fully crashing. Time is running out.
All blame has been initially directed at Joe Biden, and though he has played a large part in the disaster, it's not really his crisis. The central banks created this avalanche since 2008 and now we are finally seeing the poisonous fruits of their labors. Presidents come and go, but central bank policy does not change unless the bankers want it to.
With the Ukraine war (and now a potential war between China and Taiwan), the banks and political elites must be jumping for joy. All eyes were increasingly falling on them but now they have some very well timed distractions to blame all the world's economic ills.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is milking the Ukraine crisis for all it's worth in his latest engagement with the world press. Stating that:
“We are doing all we can to reduce suffering and save lives in Ukraine and the region, through our humanitarian operations… But the war is also having a huge and multi-dimensional impact far beyond Ukraine, through a threefold crisis of access to food, energy and finance.”
In other words, he seeks to continue the false narrative that the economic crisis is all Russia's fault. He then move's on the the secondary narrative that “Big Oil” is also partially to blame:
“…It is immoral for oil and gas companies to be making record profits from this energy crisis on the backs of the poorest people and communities and at a massive cost to the climate…I urge people everywhere to send a clear message to the fossil fuel industry and their financiers that this grotesque greed is punishing the poorest and most vulnerable people, while destroying our only common home, the planet.”
In this statement we find multiple lies. First, oil companies are seeing larger profits because of the stronger dollar in international trade. As the Fed increases interest rates the dollar index climbs against foreign currencies, and because the dollar is the global petrocurrency this means that oil companies will be raking in more dollars which accumulate more wealth through foreign exchange. This is not a situation which will last long, but for now, anything that sells in dollars is going to create considerable profits.
Secondly, say what you want about the oil companies, but they didn't create the energy crisis. Inflation was caused by central banks and NATO sanctions against Russia are doing the rest. There is a distinct communist tone to the UN Sec-Gen's speech and a clear attempt to disparage capitalism and profits when these things have absolutely nothing to do with the overall threat.
Third, it's hard not to notice the clear carbon control agenda within the UN's rhetoric and their attempt to exploit the energy crisis as a means to push their climate dictatorship goals for 2030. They want a 55% reduction in fossil fuels and carbon emissions in less than 8 years. The large bulk of Antonio Guterres press conference focused on Green New Deal propaganda. Globalists are constantly seeking to exploit the energy crisis as an excuse to push carbon restrictions and renewables, which actually make the energy crisis far worse.
The extreme economic calamity that would be created by climate change policies cannot be understated. Millions of people will die if the UN gets what it wants. That said, if there is already an economic calamity in play because of stagflation and supply chain disruptions, they figure they can force climate controls into place and no one will notice.
If regional wars in Ukraine, Taiwan and elsewhere erupt and continue for the next 8 years, then the public could be led to believe that the economic disaster was indeed caused by foreign wars and “evil nationalism” rather than globalist policies and central bank money printing. They are already planting the propaganda today in preparation for the next decade of events. The last thing the elites want is for the populace to aim their anger at at them.
Furthermore, large scale chaos calls for large scale solutions. If you want to change the world rapidly while erasing generations of traditions, heritage, principles, laws and freedoms, then you have to break the old system and get people to beg for a new one. People have to believe it was their idea to change everything, that way they don't rebel in the future.
The UN is playing a game of inoculation; planting misinformation today in advance of disasters they know will happen tomorrow.

Houston city officials banned 3D-printed firearms at future gun buyback events after one man recognized an opportunity to exploit the system and print money.
The anonymous man told local news Fox 26 that he made 62 3D-printed guns and handed them over in Houston's first gun buyback event last weekend. He said the city offered him $50 per gun, cutting him a check for $3,100.
The man said the cost of production per gun was $3, netting a profit of $47 per weapon. He said, "the goal was not personal profit, but to send [Houston leaders] a message about spending $1 million tax dollars on something that has no evidence of any effect on crime…"
He added another goal: to make the city "pay fair prices [at gun buyback events], use private donations rather than tax dollars, and don't destroy historic guns."
Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner was not enthusiastic about the man using the gun buyback program to print money. He said the next gun buyback event "will exclude 3D-printed guns … this is a program designed for people who want to voluntarily relinquish their guns."
"You'll always have people who will try and take advantage of the programs," said Turner. "I was there when that person brought in those guns. The reason we went ahead and did that was we had not said we weren't going to."
Even though the anonymous man made a fool of Houston city officials, Turner said Saturday's gun buyback was a success, removing 840 firearms from the streets.
What's strange is that Houston's ban on ghost guns from future buyback events comes as the federal and state governments have waged war against homemade firearms. Just look at the story count for "ghost guns" exploded after the Biden administration took office in 2021.
