Sources associated with the Iranian opposition report that approximately 350 members of the Afghan Fatimid militia, under the command of Hekmat Allah Harathi, have finished deploying in southern Syria and especially in the "triangle of death" region: Daraa-Quneitra-Damascus.
The militiamen arrived in the area accompanied by their families in order to settle in the area.
According to the report, Iran aims to establish its grip on southern Syria following the vacuum left behind by the Russians in the region as a result of the fighting in Ukraine. This is despite Iran's commitment to Russia in the past to stay away from the border with Israel in the Golan.
It was also reported that the arriving Fatimiyon forces were trained in military camps in southeast Tehran to use UAVs and short-range missiles.
