Here is how I see it, that President Trump warned MBS Mohammad Bin Sallam about the assassination attempt against him. For doing so, MBS arrested and held Al Waleed in the hotel after freezing his assets.

MBS was close to his dad, his dad was an awesome based dude who had all the goods on everyone who was doing bad, or had done bad. In a sense you can make the mental bridge that he would continue on with his dad's temperament and knowledge, his dad took him under his wing and taught him what it was to be a king/man.
