Mr Kim, who is North Korea's Chairman of the State Affairs Commission, may also visit other sights such as the Esplanade performing arts centre.
The mini-city tour will cap a rather quiet public schedule for Mr Kim on Monday, compared to his officials and Mr Trump.

Maui Fires Kill At Least 36, Leave Charred, Barren Landscape(Weather.com)

At least 36 people have died in wind-whipped wildfires that left complete devastation on the island of Maui in Hawaii.
The Maui County government shared the news in a statement on its website late Wednesday. Dozens of people have been injured.
The fires, influenced in part by winds caused by Hurricane Dora far to the south, appear to have wiped out the historic town of Lahaina. More than 271 structures were damaged or destroyed, according to Maui County.
Here's what's happening now:
(12:47 p.m. ET) Drought Conditions Worsen In Hawaii
Drought coverage in Hawaii more than doubled in the past week, with 14.5% of the state now classified in the moderate or severe categories. Much of central and western Maui, which includes where fires have occurred, is covered by drought conditions that first emerged in June.
Lahaina is located on the drier side of Maui, which means it averages just 10 to 11 inches of rain a year, according to data from a nearby weather station with a short period of record. This time of year is typically the driest, with just 0.23 inches of rain on average in August.
The building drought this summer means Hawaii could be at risk for more wildfires into fall, especially when stronger winds are present. An outlook from the National Interagency Fire Center calls for above normal fire activity in the state through November.
(12:31 p.m. ET) Evacuations Of Residents, Visitors Continue
A mass bus evacuation for residents and visitors in West Maui will resume at 8:30 a.m. local time, according to a social media post from Maui County. Buses will pick up passengers at a shopping area called Whalers Village in Kaanapali, on the north side of Lahaina. Visitors will be taken directly to the Kahului Airport, while residents will go to a shelter. There is capacity for about 150 people, but there are plans to add more buses if needed.
(12:00 p.m. ET) Satellite Imagery Reveals Maui Fire Burn Scars
NASA’s aqua satellite revealed burn scars from the Lahaina fire and fires in central Maui on Wednesday. The burn scars in this color-enhanced image stand out as blackened areas in contrast to the green vegetation that surrounds them.

(11:55 a.m. ET) Man Celebrating 15th Anniversary: ‘We Just Ended Up With None Of Our Possessions’
Rob Howde was celebrating his 15th wedding anniversary with his wife in Maui when wildfires broke out. They were staying in the northern section of Lahaina, about 6 miles from Front Street. After spending the day in the Kahului area south of Lahaina, Howde found out about the fire after encountering heavy traffic while heading back north.
“Our experience was not as chaotic or panicked as many others,” Howde wrote to weather.com in an email. “We just ended up with none of our possessions.”
Howde described encountering highway blockages that left him and his wife stuck in traffic for four hours. Eventually, they pulled off onto a side street occupied by cars facing similar standstills and spent the night in their car.
Most roads in Lahaina Town remain closed. According to Maui County officials, Honoapiilani Highway is open only for southbound traffic exiting Lahaina.
(11:25 a.m. ET) Conditions That Fueled Fire-Fanning Winds Have Eased
The weather patterns that charged the Lahaina fire have eased Thursday. Hurricane Dora has moved further away from Maui, reducing the pressure gradient between the storm and high pressure.
“Now, Hawaii has transitioned into a more typical weather pattern that features moderate trade winds,” said weather.com digital meteorologist Christopher Dolce. “That means weather conditions should be much calmer overall through the next several days.”

(10:14 a.m. ET) How You Can Help Hawaiian Wildfire Victims
Over 250 buildings have been damaged or destroyed as wildfires continue to burn on Maui. Dozens of people have been killed by the fire and many residents remain without cell service or electricity. Here are ways to support those affected and help communities rebuild:
You can donate funds online through The Hawaii Community Foundation, Maui United Way, the Maui Food Bank, The Maui Humane Society, The American Red Cross or The Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement (CNHA). CNHA will also be matching donations up to $250,000.
If you are on the island of Maui and want to donate in person, you can go to one of Maui County’s verified donation sites. The Ka Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Resource Centers and the Maui Food Bank have also set up locations to drop off resources.

(9:15 a.m. ET) Lahaina’s Banyan Tree Decimated By Blaze
Lahaina Town’s historic banyan tree was planted in 1873 and grew to over 60 feet tall.
The tree spanned an entire block on Front Street, which has since sustained extensive damage from wildfires.

(7:45 a.m. ET) Reporter Describes Scene On The Ground In Lahaina Town
Speaking with The Weather Channel this morning, CBS News reporter Jonathan Vigliotti described the scene when he was able to enter Lahaina Town Wednesday night to get a first-hand look at the damage.
"What we saw was pure devastation," he said.
Vigliotti added that one survivor told him that the flames were "burning so hot, they appeared white."
"We're talking neighborhood after neighborhood reduced to ash," Vigliotti also said.

(6:40 a.m. ET) Thousands Of People Evacuate, Thousands More To Go
An estimated 11,000 people have fled the island of Maui in the wake of the wildfires, Hawaii Department of Transport director Ed Sniffen told NBC News. Another 2,000 people are expected to be evacuated today, the report added.

(6 a.m. ET) Deadliest Wildfire In State History
Speaking to the New York Times, Clay Trauernicht, a tropical fire specialist at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, said the Lahaina wildfire's death toll of 36 was the largest ever recorded in Hawaii state history.
It's also one of the deadliest to strike the United States in recent memory. California's Camp Fire killed at least 85 people in and around Paradise, California, in 2018.
(5:45 a.m. ET) The Fires Are Still Burning
Crews are still working to get the wildfires under control on Maui and also the Big Island, officials said Wednesday afternoon. Active fires are burning near Lahaina, and also in the Pulehu and Upcountry areas of Maui, according to CNN.com.
(5:30 a.m. ET) Hospitals Overwhelmed, Tourists Stranded
Hospitals were overwhelmed with patients suffering from burns and smoke inhalation. Three people with critical burns were flown to a burn unit on the island of Oahu, officials said. At least 20 patients were taken to Maui Memorial Medical Center, the Associated Press reported, and a firefighter was hospitalized in stable condition after inhaling smoke.
Tourists were left stranded. Kahului Airport, Maui’s travel hub, was packed with people waiting for flights off the island.
Lt. Gov. Sylvia Luke said in a news conference earlier Wednesday that it could take months to assess the full scope of the damage — and that recovery will take years.
“This is the entire state coming together to assist our family on Maui,” Luke said.
