CIG Counter Intellegence (T.me) The New Levant Project.
A Project that was first brought to light and recommended by IMF, it first envisioned Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, and Turkey, in a single economic bloc, however, it went from 7 probable member states to only 3, due to a multitude of reasons, and Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, and Turkey were stricken off of the project plans, and the project instead became between Egypt, Iraq, and Jordan.
The project also goes by the name of "Oil-For-Reconstruction", echoing the UN-made plan during the Saddam days of "Oil-For-Food", In essence, the project in a nutshell is that Iraq would transport its oil to Egypt through Jordan, and Egypt would then export the oil to Europe and sell it.
Think about how India is buying Russian oil and then re-selling it to Europe for a massive profit, same thing between Egypt and Iraq, but here is the thing, Iraq would sell the oil to Egypt for 16 dollars a barrel, I reminds my subscribers that a barrel of oil is estimated to worth around 85 US dollars.
In return, Egypt would then export electricity to Iraq. and Egyptian construction companies, including the famed Arab Contractors and Orascom, would get the reconstruction contracts in Iraq to rebuild Iraq after two decades of war.
Jordan would benefit from this because they will also have the ability to buy oil from Iraq at 16 USD a barrel, and they would get a share from the Egyptian electricity that is also going to Iraq, the cherry on top is that it is planned for all 3 countries mentioned to have a railroad network between the three of them, so goods and people can travel from Iraq to Egypt, and vice versa, therefore implementing a degraded version of the Schengen zone, of course, paperwork and visas would be eased and be simplified for the railroad.
This would be a massive boost to the market of the three countries.
However, Iran is not taking kindly to this, the reason why the IMF suggested this project in the first place is to limit the usage of the Hormuz strait so that the Iranian Navy and Iranian Revolutionary Guard would not 'bully" or threaten vessels that pass through the Hormuz, considering that every month we see tensions and the U.S sending fleets to the Hormuz Strait, we can see why, Iran also expressed displeasure over the fact that the Egyptian Prime Minister visited Iraq and signed 15 Construction deals with Iraqi firms, what is important to note here is that the Egyptian deals only extends to Sunni provinces of Iraq, not the Shia ones.
Iran did not like this, because besides that only Sunni provinces would get preferential contracts, and they also missed out on billions of US dollars worth of contracts in reconstruction deals, also, if Iraq instead becomes dependent and deals with Egypt and Jordan, this would potentially deprive Iran of billions of US dollars and damage the 12 billion US dollars trade that they have with Iraq.
The US through the IMF understands that Egypt, using the New Levant Project, can easily play a nerve card against the Americans, because they could easily supply Iran with measures that relieve their effects from their sanctions just the same way that Egypt could potentially deprive Iran of billions of dollars.
Of course, the Project will not be implemented in the near future, it will take years, maybe even up to a decade, to be fully implemented, but we are already seeing the pillars being put to the ground, Egyptian-Iraqi trade volume increased by 20% in under a year, for example, from 2020 to 2021, and then in 2022 it jumped to over 472 Million US dollars, I remind my subscribers that in 2020 the trade volume was 100 Million US dollars, then increased to 120, then 472.
