Medicine men of the american plains used to burn the grasses in the spring to invigorate new, fresh growth of grass that would attract and sustain a herd of buffalo for the year.
A well timed burn would bring fresh grass at just the right moment for the migrating herd to feast on. A poorly timed burn led to a failed attempt causing the tribe to need to move on in pursuit of the herd that sustained them.
We are watching the grasses burn frens. Our shaman has cast embers to the wind. A shut down only offers the chance for those new grasses to grow.
