Georgia Republican Sen. Kelly Loeffler announced Monday that she would be among several congressional Republicans objecting to the certification of Joe Biden's Electoral College victory when it is brought up in a joint session on Wednesday.

Loeffler issued a statement explaining her decision:
The American people deserve a platform in Congress, permitted under the Constitution, to have election issues presented so that they can be addressed. That's why, on January 6th, I will vote to give President [Donald] Trump and the American people the fair hearing they deserve and support the objection to the Electoral College certification process. I have also already introduced legislation to establish a commission to investigate election irregularities and recommend election integrity measures, which I will be working to get passed in the Senate. We must restore trust, confidence, and integrity in our election system."
The senator's office noted that she "will object on her own," not as part of Senator [Ted] Cruz's Electoral Commission."

Xi Orders China’s Military to Focus on ‘Preparing for War’ as Party Approaches 100th Anniversary
Chinese leader Xi Jinping has commanded the regime’s military to focus on “preparing for war,” as Beijing looks to make a splash in 2021—the year marking the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
In the first order of the year, Xi instructed the forces to ratchet up military training. As chairman of the regime’s Central Military Commission (CMC), Xi is head of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), the CCP’s armed forces.
He ordered the PLA to “focus on preparing for war, deepen the transformation of military training, build a new type of military training system, and comprehensively improve the level of combat training and ability to win,” according to Chinese state media Xinhua.
The order follows the CCP’s escalation of military confrontations in several areas last year, including on the India-China border, the Taiwan Strait, and the South China Sea.
Xi also emphasized the role of technology in military training and combat, describing science and technology as a “core idea in combat effectiveness.”
The Chinese regime has embarked on an aggressive military modernization plan in a bid to challenge the dominance of the U.S. armed forces. It’s increased military spending by around tenfold in the past 20 years.

Sen. Josh Hawley Says Antifa ‘Threatened’ Wife, Newborn Daughter
…Hawley recently made headlines after he became the first senator to publicly announce that he would object to the counting of the Electoral College vote process on Jan. 6.
A group called ShutDownDC, which is affiliated with the far-left Antifa network, posted to Twitter late Monday a video where a group of people walked to the front of Hawley’s house in the northern suburbs of Virginia bordering D.C., and for about an hour held signs and carried candles while shouting slogans against Hawley through loudspeakers.
“Surprise! We’re at Josh Hawley’s house holding a vigil for democracy #SeditionCaucus #VotersDecided #J6,” the post reads.
The group later issued a statement on their website confirming that the reason they presented to Hawley’s house was because he took a stance against the Electoral College certification process scheduled to take place at a joint session in Congress on Jan. 6.
In the statement, ShutDownDC characterized Hawley’s planned move to object to the electoral college votes—which is joined by 12 other Republican senators and an anticipated 140 Republican House members—as a “plan to derail Congress’ acceptance of Joe Biden’s election win on January 6.”

As 2020 drew to a close with severe limitations to travel still in place, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) expects international arrivals to have declined by 70 to 75 percent compared to the previous year. As Statista's Felix Richter writes, that equates to a decline of around 1 billion international arrivals, bringing the industry back to 1990 levels.
