Have been adding a cap to Q drops containing the number of the drop plus text so we could access recent Q drops longer than 11 days (that's how long drops last on /qr/ - not long coz FJ shortened catalog by 40%)

I kinda liked this idea but not unless it seems useful to other anons, see example.

Thinking it might be good to have some written guidelines on how BVs deal with 'problem' posts Suggested first draft below.

BO/BV responsibilities on /mnr/:

1. BO is responsible for the board - has to agree to keep things legal to be BO. Decides the board settings and makes policy decisions.

2. BVs support BO and board itself. Need to know when the act on their own and when to defer to BO or to a more experienced BV.

3. Main BVs responsibilities:

4. routinely locking breds ~ @200

5. deleting CP and other illegal posts (mainly specific threats of violence)

6. deleting illegal posts or threads & permanently banning the poster(s) from the entire board [ban is purely symbolic coz vpn's but we try]

7. deleting posts not 'in the spirit' of /mnr/ board (not expressing an idea but just an insult, espec. when personal)

[CAUTION: be very careful with any kind of deletion, they are permanent]

Posts 'not in the spirit' of /mnr/

• obvious spam (red text "shouting," huge spaces, dense nonsense text, usual muh joos/other propaganda)

• posts meant to deliberately insult, demean, harass or taunt anons, espec. nasty GRAPHICS aimed at specific individuals

• any other posts obviously meant to create a negative or divisive atmosphere and having no other redeeming value (hardcore pron, gay pron, gore, etc.)

For new BVs

• If you're not sure whether to delete, ask other anons what they think, espec. BO/BVs if around.

• Not sure about whether images are illegal? Do a Global Report and let BO/BVs/GV's take care of it.

• Not sure about other problems? Do a Report and let BO/BVs take care of it.

Note: bans for 'offenses' other than CP aren't usually permanent. During baking class, i banned offenders for the duration of class. For spam in /meta/ thread, for one week.

Got a little problem with missing MNR notables for wearethene.ws

Pretty sure it's due to the way we are handling multipage notable buns.

There's a solution - see below.

Current situation

• Since #139, there are have been no notables listed for mignightriders board.

• In fact, several of the breads are missing entirely. CAP.

• Currently working with newsbaker to resolve this situation.

Background

Problem started when very long notables list was split over two pages for bread #239.

But no space was left between the two halves and there was no new header for for the second bun.

CAP.

Next bread #240 also had split notables.

Dif baker tried using these headers: "#240 pt1" and "#240 pt2"

I believe that was a problem, because variable strings do not like spaces because spaces usually serve as delimiters.

I emailed newsbaker about the problem, suggesting this format:

He said that should work. I have used it that format previously for multipage variable lists.

i've suggested snagit ($49) as a solution - there is a version for Mac. Much cheaper than converting to PC and does mp4 video captures too. Really great product, i use it 20x a day for diggs.

There was a lot of activity because i had to unlock a bread (#280), delete 5 or 6 dummy posts, and insert new text (first dummy then real - those were the edits). Also unlocked two breads (one by mistake - see >61224, >61228 - where an anon asked about it and i answered).
