Are We Still Allowed To Ask Questions?

(Continued 1 of 2)

Friday, Jan 22, 2021 - 20:20

Authored by Paul Rosenberg via FreeMansPerspective.com,

Aside from a breathless stream of headlines and a few random inputs, I haven’t seen many facts regarding the events of January 6th. Circumstances made things that way for me, and now I’m glad they did, because it set me up for the really important issue: Am I allowed to ask questions about this, or am I not?

Bear in mind that I haven’t voted for or otherwise championed Mr. Trump. (Nor did I support his opponents.) More than that, I really want to know the answers to these questions. Especially given the fallout from January 6th, honest answers to these questions matter a great deal.

So, I’m going to stick my neck out and ask questions about this event that seem pertinent.

''Question #1: What was the actual time line?''

As I was driving on the 6th, I flipped on the radio and heard Mr. Trump speaking. I was aware that there was going to be a rally in the capitol, and so I listened for a minute or so, just enough to get the tone of it; a rally on the same day electoral votes were counted concerned me.

What I actually heard from Mr. Trump, however, was less than his strongest, and included something like, “I know you’re going to go down there…” combined with “patriotically and peacefully.” Hearing him mention “peacefully” comforted me. (Plus the fact that American conservatives take pride in being peaceful and courteous.)

And so I was rather shocked, not many minutes later, when a friend called and said something about the capitol. I responded along the lines of, “it sounds harmless enough”… whereupon I learned that protesters were already inside the building.

Since then I’ve seen claims that Mr. Trump was a mile away, in the middle of his speech, when the capitol building was being broken into.

So, between my own observations and the claims, I’d like to know what really happened when.

Again, I honestly don’t know. What troubles me is that I haven’t seen the claim refuted, only ignored.

''Question #2: Were agents provocateur involved?''

One of the random things I came across was a report from Michael Yon, perhaps the most experienced war reporter in the world, claiming BLM and Antifa agents provocateur led the break-in. This is a guy who should be able to tell.

I’ve further seen reports that someone named Sullivan was a known BLM leader, and was at the vanguard of people entering the building.

So, I don’t actually know that BLM and Antifa were involved with this, but I’d very much like to know. And once again, I haven’t seen this question addressed. Perhaps I’ve missed something conclusive on this, but the question deserves to be addressed with facts.

''Question #3: Is thinking an election was rigged considered insane?''

This is the impression I get from about half of my headline stream: That anyone believing the recent election was rigged is flat-out insane. But for me, that’s a real problem, because I’ve experienced election rigging, personally. On top of that, I’ve known a lot of inside players in my home state, giving me many more reasons to believe in election rigging.

That’s not proof that the November election was rigged, of course, but it’s clearly a reason for me to take seriously the possibility. And if I’m not allowed to ask, I have to wonder why.

As best I can tell, none of the loud voices (news networks, etc.) have analyzed what has been claimed as evidence. Again, I may have missed something, but I simply haven’t seen it. So far as I know, the courts have never examined it (they got rid of the cases on procedural grounds in every case I recall), nor did congress: the “insurrection” interrupted that, after which it was ignored. That sounds very convenient to me, but again, I could have missed a lot.

So again I’d like to know: Is such a question permissible, or will I be punished for asking it?

(2 of 2)

''Question #4: Aside from trespassing and a few broken windows, what harm was done?''

So far as I know, the answer is “not much,” though I may have missed something. A lady named Ashli Babbitt was shot and killed, but she was killed by the police, not the protesters. And details about other reported deaths are spotty. So, I think my question is valid.

Several hundred politicians were inconvenienced, of course, but that’s hardly a major issue.

A congressional baseball team being murderously shot up not too long ago was a big deal, but that came and went with almost none of the fanfare and fallout we’ve seen since January 6th.

So again I ask, precisely what harm was done? And I ask especially because I’ve seen words like “sacred” applied to this, and to me that reeks of idolatry and dogma, the opposites of reason and proportion.

''Question #5: Where are the civil libertarians?''

I’ll admit that this one rather ticks me off. Tens of thousands of people have been ejected from the public square, not because they caused actual harm, but because someone thinks they’re part of an “insurrection.” Bear in mind that almost none of these people were anywhere near Washington, DC on the 6th. All they did was to fall within some algorithm produced by a surveillance capitalism company. (Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)

I’ve further heard that people have lost jobs and financing in precisely the same manner: They had nothing to do with the event, but were somehow associated with it. Either that’s a witch hunt or there’s massive and direct evidence against all those people… and it sure doesn’t seem like that’s the case. Since when do we impose penalties for insurrection without a serious finding of fact?

And Ron Paul, for goodness sake? He’s a congenitally polite doctor, now old and retired. Disagree with him all you like, but to eject him from the public square is naked thuggery.

So again, I ask: Where are all the civil libertarians? They’re absent without leave, as best I can tell. Either that or it was always a charade, and their high-sounding rhetoric was just sucker-bait for the rubes.

If These Things Can’t Be Asked…

Here’s where the rubber meets the road: If we cannot ask these questions, confident that we’ll be met with reason and proportion, we’re living in a tyranny.

What appears to be happening is an illogical statement being writ very large. This is the statement:

Some people broke into the capitol and a few windows were broken, therefore our lives are in danger and we must stomp out all evildoers.

Any connection between the first part of that sentence and the second is uncertain and (as best I can tell) unproven. And yet, the responses to January 6th treat it as completely verified.

And so, if these questions are not permissible, we are living in tyranny, and particularly under the tyranny of those who punish the asking.

So many times we see the true importance of things only once we lose them, and this moment has been revelatory in just that way: We can now see why free speech must be held sacrosanct.

Free speech is inherently oppositional to tyranny. It’s the canary in our coal mine. When we see free speech abandoned and punished, we can be certain that tyranny is upon us.

Is It Almost Over: US Sees Record One-Day Drop In COVID Hospitalizations

by Tyler Durden - Friday, Jan 22, 2021 - 19:20

In the last few days - really since the Biden inauguration - we have seen declarations of victory over covid across the board, from the likes of Dr. Fauci who yesterday said that coronavirus infections may be about to hit a "plateau", to Wall Street, where Bank of America yesterday declared "The Beginning Of The End Of The COVID Crisis."

In its chart of the day, BofA showed that the US is now clearly over the hump, with 142,000 COVID cases in the US on Monday, down 32% from the prior Monday with the seven day average also dropping to 209,000, down 16% from the peak on January 8th."

In another good sign, the bank said that "testing is increasing and the share of tests that come back positive is falling" and cheerfully adds that "It seems clear that an end to the holiday season, a modest increase in restrictions and a small increase in herd immunity is bending the COVID curve."

So is the beginning of covid's end truly nigh (coincidentally, just as Joe Biden walked into the White House)?

It would appear that the answer is yes: as Goldman predicted last month, now that the US has administered 17.5 million vaccines and the pace has picked up to 6.4 million per week (19 per every 1000 people and almost 1million per day), Bloomberg today announced that Covid-19 hospitalizations in the U.S. fell by the most ever on Thursday, the latest sign that not only "relief may be coming to a health-care system that’s been fighting the virus for almost a year", but that the pandemic appears to finally be under control.

Bloomberg cites the latest Covid Tracking Project data according to which, the number of people currently hospitalized with Covid dropped by 2,773 in a single day to 119,927, while the one-week drop of 9,020 was also a record, the data show. More importantly, the decrease is accelerating on a percentage basis.

To be sure, the absolute number of people with Covid-19 in hospitals is still extraordinarily high, and while the virus remains prevalent in much of the country, it is now following the hospitalization scenario laid out by Goldman…

… which said that "as vaccinations ramp with the targeted population we see the potential for significant further declines in US hospitalizations in the coming weeks" and in fact predicts no more covid-related hospitalizations in just a few months. The data also corroborates what we published in mid-December when we used Goldman's analysis when we explained "Why Covid Hospitalizations And Deaths Are About To Plunge."

Meanwhile, as Bloomberg notes "the U.S. is also entering the second month of its vaccination push, with 18 million doses of the vaccine administered, or 5.62 people per 100, according to the Bloomberg Vaccine Tracker. Fauci has estimated that the U.S. needs to vaccinate more than 70% of its people to return to a degree of normalcy."

Which means that between those Americans who already have natural immunity to covid (from having survived it) and those who will get the vaccine in the next several months, herd immunity should be a fact of life by the late spring (unless, of course, Fauci moves the goalposts again, or a new mutant strain with immunity to all vaccines mysteriously emerges in the next few weeks).

Baseball Hall of Famer Henry ‘Hank’ Aaron Dies at 86

by Dylan Gwinn - 22 Jan 2021

Aaron was born in Mobile, Alabama in 1934, the son of Herbert and Estella Aaron. He played in sandlots and started his pro career in the Negro Leagues in 1951. He made his way through the minor leagues until age 20. Aaron then made his Major League Debut and started his 23-year-career with the then-Milwaukee Braves.

He recorded his first of 755 home runs on April 23, 1954 in a game against the St. Louis Cardinals. His first season saw him finish fourth in the rookie of the year voting as he hit .280 with 13 home runs and 69 RBIs. It was just the start of what became one of the most legendary careers in baseball history.

By the time he was in just his fourth season, he hit 44 home runs, drove in 132 RBIs and won the National League MVP award. The 1957 season started a lengthy run that saw Aaron hit at least 25 home runs in every season until 1973. During this time, Aaron and the Braves moved from Milwaukee to Atlanta where Aaron became a living legend on the field.

On April 8, 1974, Aaron hit the home run that broke Babe Ruth’s record of 714. Dodgers announcer Vin Scully described the moment from a historical perspective.

“What a marvelous moment for baseball. What a marvelous moment for Atlanta and the state of Georgia. What a marvelous moment for the country and the world,” Scully said. “A black man is getting a standing ovation in the Deep South for breaking the record of an all-time baseball idol. And it is a great moment for all of us, and particularly for Henry Aaron …”

Aaron received a large amount of racist hate mail as he approached Ruth’s record.

According to CBS46:

Aaron remains baseball’s runs batted in leader with 2,297 and total base leader with 6,856. Hammerin’ Hank finished his career with 755 home runs, an all-time record that stood for decades until Barry Bonds passed him and finished with 762 home runs. His #44 jersey was retired by both the Atlanta Braves and Milwaukee Brewers.

On August 1, 1982, Aaron was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. In 1999, the 25th anniversary of Aaron breaking the home run record, Major League Baseball established the Hank Aaron Award that is given to the best overall hitter in each league. He later received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President George W. Bush and was inducted as a Georgia Trustee by the Georgia Historical Society in 2010. In 2016, Aaron was presented with the Order of the Rising Sun, one of Japan’s highest honors for his work with the World Children’s Baseball Fair.

In 1999, MLB created the Hank Aaron Award, an annual award bestowed on the best offensive player in each league.

Aaron is survived by his wife, Billye, and five children, Gaile, Hank Jr, Lary, Dorinda and Ceci.

Baseball legend Hank Aaron got virus vaccine earlier in January

by: CBS Newspath, The Associated Press

Posted: Jan 22, 2021 / 10:44 AM CST / Updated: Jan 22, 2021 / 10:55 PM CST

(CBS Newspath) — Baseball legend Hank Aaron, former UN Ambassador Andrew Young and former Health and Human Services Secretary Louis Sullivan got vaccinated against COVID-19 at the Morehouse School of Medicine on Tuesday January 5th, hoping to send a message to Black Americans that the shots are safe.

Rolling up their sleeves to take the first of two doses of the Moderna vaccine, these and other civil rights leaders visiting a brand-new Morehouse health clinic acknowledged the legacy of mistrust many Black people have toward medical research, stemming from the infamous Tuskegee experiment that left Black men to suffer needlessly.

But people need to realize that this coronavirus vaccine is endorsed by the community’s own experts and heroes, won’t more harm than good, they said.

“Makes me feel wonderful. I don’t have any qualms about it at all, you know. I feel quite proud of myself for doing something like this, you know. It’s just a small thing that can help zillions of people in this country,” told The AP after receiving his vaccination.

Broadcasting legend Larry King dies at 87

by UPI23 Jan 2021

Jan. 23 (UPI) — Broadcasting legend Larry King died Saturday at a hospital in Los Angeles, his production company announced. He was 87.

A statement from Ora Media didn’t give a cause of death, but he had been receiving treatment for COVID-19. ''(Probably the flu)''

“With profound sadness, Ora Media announces the death of our co-founder, host and friend Larry King, who passed away this morning at age 87 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles,” the production company said.

The famed interviewer, who had Type 2 diabetes, had been hospitalized since late December, his family said earlier this month.

His career in radio, TV, newspapers and digital media lasted more than six decades and earned him induction into the National Radio Hall of Fame, an Emmy Award, two Peabody Awards and 10 Cable ACE Awards.

The native New Yorker most notably hosted Larry King Live from 1985 to 2010 on CNN, then Larry King Now from 2012 to 2020 on Hulu and RT America. He never formally retired.

King also wrote a newspaper column for USA Today and authored the books My Remarkable Journey and My Dad & Me.

He was a prolific tweeter and appeared as himself in numerous films and TV shows, including Ghostbusters, Dave, Primary Colors, Enemy of the State, America’s Sweethearts, Shrek 2, Shrek the Third, Murphy Brown, Spin City, The Practice, Everybody Loves Raymond, Ugly Betty, The Closer, Big Love Law and Order: Criminal Intent, The Simpsons and 30 Rock.

“He coaxed, rather than challenged, and the result, while not always groundbreaking, was always interesting and smart,” said Tom Rosenstiel, executive director of the American Press Institute, about King’s interview style.

“His dirty little secret was he was a much more intelligent guy than he let on, and a much better listener than most people in television. But he really believed that his guest was the star, and his job was to help reveal that.”

King is survived by his children Larry Jr., Chance and Cannon. Two of his children, Andy and Chaia, died in 2020.

King filed for divorce from Shawn, his seventh spouse, in August 2019 after about 22 years of marriage.

King suffered several heart attacks and underwent quintuple bypass surgery in 1987.

He said in 2017 he was diagnosed with lung cancer and successfully underwent surgery to treat it.

He also had a near-fatal stroke in March 2019.

Funeral arrangements and a memorial service were being planned by the family.

Tory MP: People Will ‘Rise Up’ Unless Boris Develops Corona Exit Strategy

by Victoria Friedman - 23 Jan 2021

''Lockdown sceptic Sir Desmond Swayne MP predicted that unless the government devises an exit strategy for coronavirus restrictions, Britons will “rise up” and demand the laws be changed.''

“I think it comes down to this: as hospital admissions decline with the progress of vaccination, the notion that ordinary people are going to be prepared to tolerate going on living like troglodytes in this rediculous way is absurd,” Sir Desmond told talkRADIO host Julia Hartley-Brewer on Friday.

“We were told… that [lockdown] was protecting the NHS [National Health Service] and reducing hospital admissions. As they reduce, the burden of lockdown becomes intolerable,” Sir Desmond said, adding that the government continues to move the goalposts of what influences lockdown.

“The goalposts keep moving,” he said. “The goalpost has to be the NHS coping with an acceptable number of hospital admissions.”

The MP for New Forest West said that eventually, unless the government commits to a fix exit strategy, Britons will demand the lockdown laws be changed.

“At some stage, people have got to rise up and ‘bring it down’, as they say in the United States, but the reality is, I’m deeply sceptical about this great belief that everyone is in favour of lockdown and we need tougher restrictions and are happy for it to go on. This is madness,” said the Iraq War veteran.

The government has indeed moved the goalposts several times in the past ten months, notably turning what first was sold as a three-week lockdown starting in March 2020 to “stop the spread” and prepare NHS hospitals for high numbers of coronavirus cases into several months of multiple lockdowns and other restrictions on free assembly, movement, and business.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson had also pledged not to cancel Christmas, granting Britons a five-day break from restrictions — organised in tiers one to three — to spend time with loved ones, only to invent another restrictions tier — Tier 4 — and cancel family holiday plans for millions of Britons in the south-east.

This year, the prime minister announced a third lockdown, declining to give an end-date to the period of severe restrictions which could, according to the legislation, last until March 31st. Government ministers and the premier himself have either said it was too early to tell when lockdown would end or gave predictions ranging from mid-February to late Spring, early Summer.

While Mr Swayne remains sceptical that Britons would accept continuing to live under lockdown without good reason, the polls would suggest otherwise.

Consistently, surveys have revealed that Britons remain fearful of leaving their homes, blaming each other for rising numbers. They have also demanded harsher police action on rule-breakers, and supported the erosion of privacy or civil liberties as well as the growth of the police state in the name of tracking the spread of the infection.

Citizens are also open to informing on each other over perceived infractions of the lockdown laws.

Anecdotal evidence also suggests that some are who will shame people in the street for not wearing a mask, despite there being no legal requirement to cover one’s face when out in the open.

Writing in The Telegraph on Friday, Judith Woods described being a victim of “mask rage” when, while walking her dog, a woman verbally abused her for not covering up. Ms Woods wrote:

“Go home!” yelled the woman. I was so clueless I whipped round to see which malfeasant she was addressing. It turned out to be me.

I was walking along a residential road, returning from my daily exercise-cum-dog walk, when the unsettling encounter occurred.

“If you refuse to protect others, you have no right to leave the house,” the masked woman asserted. “Wear. A. Mask.”

On Friday, London’s Labour mayor Sadiq Khan has called for mask-wearing to be made mandatory in busy outdoor settings.

Democrat Keating Confirms Confronting Maskless National Guardsman but Says That’s Not Why Troops Relocated

by Kristina Wong - 22 Jan 2021

Rep. Bill Keating (D-MA) confirmed that he confronted a maskless National Guard member, as reported by Breitbart News, but denied that it led to the relocation of National Guard members to a parking garage.

Breitbart News reported an incident between Keating and a National Guard member at a Dunkin’ Donuts cafe in a Capitol grounds building on Thursday morning, where Keating saw a maskless member of the National Guard and commented out loud that masks were required to be worn at all times in a federal building.

The National Guard member allegedly responded, “I appreciate my freedom,” according to two sources.

Hours later, thousands of National Guard members were reportedly sent from the Capitol building grounds to a parking garage for their rest periods, and told they could not hang out in cafe areas as they had previously done.

Keating, in a tweet, called Breitbart News’s story “baseless” but confirmed that he confronted National Guardsmen and said it had nothing to do with the relocation — which has prompted widespread anger on Capitol Hill.

He tweeted:

Yesterday, I was with a large number of people in a coffee shop in the House, some of whom weren’t wearing masks. I commented – to no one in particular – that this has the ingredients of a super-spreader event and we should all keep our masks on. A member of the National Guard chose to loudly refuse. That is the totality of what took place.

He also tweeted out a press release from the Massachusetts National Guard that said Keating did not banish National Guardsmen to a parking garage. It said, “Capitol building officials directed those National Guard Soldiers assigned to the Senate portion of the Capitol building, to move their break area to a parking garage due to the Senate being in session.”

“The relocation of National Guardsmen within the U.S. Capitol building grounds had nothing to do with Congressman Keating reminding a Soldier of the requirement to wear their mask,” it said.

The press release also pushed back on news reports and photos of soldiers resting on the ground, saying that those reports failed to mention the troops were “on a break, resting between shifts.”

The reports and social media photos of soldiers laying on the ground in a parking garage have sparked widespread anger from Democrats and Republicans alike on Capitol Hill, who have vowed to get to the bottom of what exactly happened.

According to the Washington Post, a National Guard spokesman said the request was made by Capitol Police, but Capitol Police denied they made the request.

The National Guard released a statement on Friday that said that both the National Guard and Capitol Police were “united in the common goal to protect the U.S. Capitol and the Congress during this time.”

It added, “As with any large security operation, coordination and flexibility are required for all involved.” It went on:

The USCP and the National Guard have coordinated their efforts to ensure that National Guardsmen and women are stationed throughout the Capitol Complex are in appropriate spaces within Congressional buildings, including the U.S. Capitol, where they may take on-duty breaks. Off-duty troops are being housed in hotel rooms or other comfortable accommodations.

“The National Guard appreciates the continuous support of Congressional members who expressed concern for our National Guard men and women. The USCP is also grateful for the support of the Congress concerning the wellbeing of the women and men of the Department,” it said.

The Beast Is Afraid

by L Todd Wood - January 23, 2021

The beast is afraid… of The Deplorables. There are eighty million of us after all. We also believe passionately in the republic and what it stood for in the past, and will stand for again.

The beast knows this. At its core, the beast is a weak criminal, a schoolyard bully, a self-serving monster.

This is why there were over 30,000 U.S. military in Washington, D.C. over the last few weeks. This is why Nancy Pelosi wanted crew-served machine guns pointed a law-abiding Americans.

This is why they are going to use the national security establishment of the United States to go after its own citizens. Unfortunately, all the 3-letter agencies and the Department of Defense have been largely infiltrated, at least the leadership for the most part.

The silver lining of all this is that our domestic enemies have taken off the mask. Their corruption and rot is out there for all to see.

Now you know how evil they really are.

The useful idiots that voted for Barack Obama did this to us.

However, it is not too late. We can reclaim the republic, without violence.

''It will take determination, grit, and perseverance; but, it can be done.''

Organize with like-minded patriots. Get off the commie social media networks. Get on Gab, Telegram, Minds and others. Order the Gab phone when it comes out. Don’t buy another iPhone. Get on Gab TV.

Stop giving money to globalist media and corporations. Our economic power is our strength.

Just stop…cold Turkey. No more excuses to watch Fox, or shop at Walmart.

Find a local hardware store, a local grocer, and support them.

Superman is not coming; we can do this ourselves. We can reclaim America through the states – for all peoples and all races.

This will take pressure on weak state legislatures. However, they hold the power, per our Founding Fathers brilliant vision.

Don’t accept any more GOP subterfuge and betrayal.

Hold the line my friends, we will get America back in our lifetime.
