On Twitter Sunday, Girdusky — who broke the story earlier this month — blasted the Lincoln Project’s statement as false, saying the group had been made aware of the allegations when he was reporting them out last year.

Australian Lawmakers ‘Will Not Be Intimidated’ – Reject Big Tech Pleas for Leniency
Facebook Inc CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s call to Australian lawmakers for leniency over plans to regulate tech giants and force them to pay for news sourced from local media outlets has been roundly rejected by Canberra.
The move comes as a broader international debate grows over how countries regulate big tech companies such as Google, Amazon and Facebook and force them to pay their way.
Treasurer Josh Frydenberg said Sunday he met with Mark Zuckerberg over the government’s proposal, but the Facebook chief executive and founder was unable to shift the government’s position.
“Mark Zuckerberg didn’t convince me to back down, if that’s what you are asking,” Frydenberg said, according to ABC News Australia.
Australia intends to introduce a law that would force Facebook, the world’s largest social media platform, and internet search giant Google Inc to negotiate payments to media companies whose content drives traffic to their websites.
If the parties cannot agree on payments, a government-appointed arbitrator will step in, in a regulatory move already being mirrored in the arena of big tech censorhip :
As Breitbart News reported, tech giant Google has threatened to remove its search engine from the entire country if the proposed legislation goes into effect.
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has responded to Google’s warnings, stating: “We don’t respond to threats. Australia makes our rules for things you can do in Australia. That’s done in our Parliament. It’s done by our government. And that’s how things work here in Australia.”
Frydenberg said the government took seriously Google’s threat to stop making its search engine available in Australia altogether, but agreed with Morrison that Australia will not be intimidated by tech companies.
“I don’t dismiss the threats, but I’m not intimidated by them either,” Frydenberg said, when asked if Google was bluffing.
At a Senate inquiry into the planned law earlier this month, local heads of both companies outlined their opposition to the plans, which would be among the toughest in the world in dealing with the financial impact of global internet companies on domestic media, which have been hit by shrinking advertising revenue.
“We’re told that if we go ahead with this, we’re going to break the internet,” Frydenberg said, dismissing the pleas of Facebook and Google for a free ride.
“What I do know is that media businesses should be paid for content.”

Rep. Stephen Lynch tests positive for COVID-19 after he received two doses of Pfizer vaccine
"While Mr. Lynch remains asymptomatic and feels fine, he will self-quarantine and will vote by proxy in Congress during the coming week," a statement noted.
Representative Stephen Lynch, a Democrat representing Massachusetts, has tested positive for COVID-19 despite having received two doses of the Pfizer vaccine.
"This afternoon U.S. Representative Stephen F. Lynch received a positive test result for COVID-19 after a staff member in the Congressman's Boston office had tested positive earlier in the week," spokesperson Molly Rose Tarpey reportedly said in a statement on Friday.
"Congressman Lynch had received the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine and subsequently received a negative COVID-19 test prior to attending President Biden's Inauguration," Tarpey, the congressman's communications director, reportedly said in the statement. "While Mr. Lynch remains asymptomatic and feels fine, he will self-quarantine and will vote by proxy in Congress during the coming week."

660 Fifth Ave. sheds Satanic address, to reopen next year
The office tower formerly known as 666 Fifth Ave. is putting Satan — and decades of ruinous mismanagement — behind it. Having shed the devilish address for unthreatening 660 Fifth, Brookfield Properties’ 1.5 million square-foot tower between East 52nd and 53rd streets is on track to reopen in 2022 — a year ahead of previous reports.
The $400 million redesign by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates will make the mostly vacant building unrecognizable except for its basic form. The aluminum-paneled façade, which seemed striking in 1957, is giving way to a new curtain wall of insulated glass panels. Light-flooded, semi-open floors are replacing warrens of old-fashioned, walled offices.
Four terraces will provide tenants with outdoor space, including one overlooking St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The upgrades also include all-new mechanical systems, mullion-free, 200 square-foot windows, a new East 52nd Street lobby, reconfigured retail on side streets, taller ceilings on some floors, and a direct outside air supply system to bring in 50 percent more fresh air.
The air inside 666 was anything but fresh. Cigar fumes from the top-floor Grand Havana Club smoking venue permeated hallways, offices — and even the ground-floor lobby when Realty Check popped in a few years ago.The Grand Havana, like other former tenants, is gone. “You can’t lease with cigar smoke,” chuckled Sabrina Kanner, Brookfield’s head of development, design and construction.
Although the smoke’s cleared, could the club’s long-ago top-floor predecessor, restaurant Top of the Sixes, make a comeback?
“Who knows?” Kanner said when we asked if it was a possibility. “We had issues with the cigar bar.”
But it would be a great location for a “view” restaurant “if somebody brought us the right concept,” she said.
