Unearthed tweets show Jamie Raskin, Joe Biden saying ‘fight like hell’

Republicans on Wednesday dug up past instances of Democratic House impeachment managers and President Biden using the words “fight” or “fight like hell” — one of the key allegations against former President Donald Trump at his Senate trial.

The Save America PAC’s “Trump War Room” tweeted a “FLASHBACK” screenshot of lead House manager Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) invoking the notion of combat to block Republican efforts to swiftly replace the late US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg following her death in September.

“The GOP rush to replace Justice Ginsburg is all about destroying the Affordable Care Act, women’s health care and reproductive freedom, and the voting rights and civil rights of the people,” Raskin tweeted at the time.

“We must fight like hell to stop this assault on health care and the Constitution.”

In another tweet unearthed by the Trump War Room, Raskin exhorted, “This is our Democracy–fight for it” in 2017 while calling for a probe into Trump’s alleged ties to Russia.

The Trump War Room also resurfaced a pair of 2017 tweets in which House manager Ted Lieu (R-Calif.) put a violent spin on former First Lady Michelle Obama’s famous credo, “When they go low, we go high.”

“I like that. But I like better, ‘when they go low, we fight back,'” Lieu said in one.

During Trump’s second impeachment trial, the House managers have repeatedly cited Trump’s use of “fight” and “fight like hell” while addressing his supporters shortly before their Jan. 6 riot on the US Capitol.

“President Trump used the word ‘fight’ or ‘fighting’ 20 times, including telling the crowd they needed to ‘fight like hell’ to save our democracy,” US Rep. Madeleine Dean (D-Pa.) said Wednesday afternoon.

Republican members of the House Judiciary Committee also tweeted a screengrab of then-candidate Biden discussing how his father walked upstairs to break the news that their family had to move from Pennsylvania to Delaware so he could make a living.

“That’s why I’ve spent my whole career fighting — and I will continue to fight — like hell so that no one ever has to make that walk again,” Biden tweeted in May.

In a snarky reference to the “incitement of insurrection” charge pending against Trump, @JudiciaryGOP added: “Incitement?”

In an effort to be "trans-friendly," a hospital is advising nurses to no longer use words such as “breastfeeding” and “breast milk."

"Human milk" and "chest milk" are the more acceptable terms for midwives to use.

Midwives at a hospital in England were directed to no longer use words such as “breastfeeding” and “breast milk” in order to be more inclusive to trans parents.

"Human milk,” "breast/chest milk," or "milk from the feeding mother or parent" are the more acceptable terms for midwives to use at the Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust in lieu of using the traditional “breast milk.”

The hospital is the first in the country to use the trans-friendly language within its maternity ward, which will now be known as the "perinatal services” department.

“Gender identity can be a source of oppression and health inequality. We are consciously using the words 'women' and 'people' together to make it clear that we are committed to working on addressing health inequalities for all those who use our services,” the BSUH said in a statement.

"As midwives and birth workers, we focus on improving access and health outcomes for marginalised and disadvantaged groups. Women are frequently disadvantaged in healthcare, as are trans and nonbinary people," the BSUH said. "By continuing to use the term 'woman' we commit to working on addressing health inequalities for all who use our services."

The word “mothers” on its own will also be avoided, with midwives told to use "mothers or birthing parents" instead. "Woman" will also be swapped with "people'' or other inclusive language.

“We are consciously using the words 'women' and 'people' together to make it clear that we are committed to working on addressing health inequalities for all those who use our services,” the document said.

About 1% of adults in England identify as transgender or nonbinary, though more people reportedly identify as such in the Brighton and Hove area.

Conservatives, social media question why Dems picked Swalwell to sway GOP senators on impeachment

Social media is questioning the wisdom of selecting Swalwell as an impeachment manager

Social media users and others are questioned why House Democratic leaders have appointed Rep. Eric Swalwell as one of their nine impeachment managers tasked with convincing 16 Republican senators to impeach former President Trump.

The California Democrat has long been an outspoken Trump critic. And recent revelations about his connection to an alleged Chinese spy have only lessened his credibility among Republicans and others.

Conservative commentator and columnist Guy Benson called leadership's decision to put Swalwell on the impeachment team "baffling."

"Eric Swalwell, a lawmaker successfully targeted by a Chinese spy, is now leading arguments for Trump’s conviction at the Senate trial. His inclusion on this team + his continued perch on the intelligence committee = bad, baffling moves by Democratic leadership," Benson tweeted Wednesday as Swalwell took his turn on the Senate floor, attempting to make the case Trump incited the Jan. 6 Capitol riot long before his speech earlier that day.

Swalwell has essentially tried to remove Trump from office from the time he moved into the White House in 2017, having supported unproven allegations Trump colluded with Russia in his 2016 presidential campaign.

Tuesday night, following day one of the impeachment trial, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, previewed some of the criticism Swalwell indeed faced went he took his turn the following day.

The Democrats have Eric "Swalwell coming in," Cruz said. "I do hope he gives some remarks on improving our relations with China. He has a novel approach to that."

Weeks ago, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., raised concerns about Swalwell remaining a member of the House intelligence committee, amid the reports in December 2020 about the female Chinese spy.

The suspected spy was connected to the Chinese Communist Party and for years worked as a prominent Swalwell fundraiser. The woman was purportedly influential enough to get somebody she knew hire to Swalwell's congressional office.

Journalist Michael Tracey argued Wednesday that selecting somebody as divisive as Swalwell to be a leading voice of the Democrats' impeachment team suggests Democrats aren't particularly trying to make their case to both sides of the aisle.

Google Quietly Escalates Manual Search Censorship

Google has quietly escalated censorship of its market-dominating search engine, adding a range of new topics where human moderators are allowed to manually penalize websites, suppressing them in search results.

If a website is affected by one of these manual acts of censorship, “some or all of that site will not be shown in Google search results,” according to the tech giant.

The list, published in full on Google’s support website, includes the following:

Discover policy violation: Adult-themed content

News and Discover policy violation: Dangerous content

News and Discover policy violation: Harassing content

News and Discover policy violation: Hateful content

News and Discover policy violation: Manipulated media

News and Discover policy violation: Medical content

Discover policy violation: Misleading content

News and Discover policy violation: Sexually explicit content

News and Discover policy violation: Terrorist content

News policy violation: Transparency

News and Discover policy violation: Violence and gore content

News and Discover policy violation: Vulgar language and profanity

Publishers who have been hit with a manual action by Google will be able to appeal the decision by “fixing” whatever issue violated the policy and then submitting their website to Google for a review. Google states that it could take “several days or a week” for the tech giant to reach a final decision, leaving

Once upon a time, Google attempted to conceal its censorship of search. Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai insisted, under oath before congress, that the company does not “manually intervene on any particular search result,” a statement that one of Google’s own former employees said was a lie.

Leaks like the “Good Censor” briefing and YouTube’s search blacklists, both published by Breitbart News, attracted viral attention because they revealed manual censorship of search results, in particular political search results, and contrary to Pichai’s statements, occurred regularly at Google.

But as Republicans failed to impose any consequences on Google or other tech companies for their growing political interference and erosion of Americans’ ability to exercise their First Amendment rights online, Google and other tech companies became less concerned about hiding their acts of censorship.

Analysis by Breitbart News also revealed that Google suppressed links to conservative news websites, including Breitbart, on searches for “Biden” and “Joe Biden” ahead of the 2020 election — but this was discovered in part by anaylzing data from Google’s own publisher console, a sign of how relaxed the tech giant has become about its political interference being discovered.

Eric Swalwell keeps raving about “insurrectionists” even though we don’t see any insurrection, only unarmed people roaming through the building. He foams about “rioters” even though there are no riots going on. Is anyone duped by this illusionist rhetoric? #SenateImpeachmentTrial
