BREAKING 911- SAN DIEGO, Calif. — A frantic search is underway for high-powered explosives that have vanished from Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms—the largest United States Marine Corps base.
Officials at the Southern California base reported the missing items to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department last week. The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) is also on the case.
KGTV reported: Sources report that approximately 10 pounds of Composition C-4 disappeared during a long training exercise two weeks ago. They also believe the manufactured plastic explosives may have been stolen.
The unit’s commanding officer is considering extending the training exercise until the explosives are found, sources said. They also confirm the commanding officer messaged subordinate commands about a monetary reward for any information leading to the discovery of the C-4.
Roche's tocilizumab cuts deaths in hospitalised COVID-19 patients - study
LONDON, Feb 11 (Reuters) - Roche's arthritis drugtocilizumab cuts the risk of death among patients hospitalisedwith severe COVID-19, also shortening the time to recovery andreducing the need for mechanical ventilation, results of a largetrial showed on Thursday.
The findings - from the RECOVERY trial, which has beentesting a range of potential treatments for COVID-19 since March2020 - should help clear up confusion about whether tocilizumabhas any benefit for COVID-19 patients after a slew of recentmixed trial results.
"We now know that the benefits of tocilizumab extend to allCOVID patients with low oxygen levels and significantinflammation," said Peter Horby, a professor of emerginginfectious diseases at Oxford University and the joint leadinvestigator on the RECOVERY trial.
In June last year, the RECOVERY trial found that the cheapand widely available steroid dexamethasone reduced death ratesby around a third among the most severely ill COVID-19 patients. That drug has since rapidly became part of standard-of-carerecommended for severe patients.
Tocilizumab, sold under the brand name Actemra, is anintravenous anti-inflammatory monoclonal antibody drug used totreat rheumatoid arthritis. It was added to the trial in April2020 for patients with COVID-19 who required oxygen and hadevidence of inflammation.
The study data were from 2,022 COVID-19 patients who wererandomly allocated to receive tocilizumab by intravenousinfusion and who were compared with 2,094 patients randomlyallocated to usual care alone. Researchers said 82% of allpatients were taking a systemic steroid such as dexamethasone.
Results showed that treatment with tocilizumab significantlyreduced deaths - with 596 (29%) of the patients in thetocilizumab group dying within 28 days, compared with 694 (33%)patients in the usual care group.
This translates to an absolute difference of 4% and meansthat for every 25 patients treated with tocilizumab, oneadditional life would be saved, Horby and his co-leadinvestigator Martin Landray said.
They added that benefits of tocilizumab were clearly seen tobe in addition to those of steroids.
"Used in combination, the impact is substantial," saidLandray, who is also an Oxford professor of medicine andepidemiology.
He added that results "clearly show the benefits oftocilizumab and dexamethasone in tackling the worst consequencesof COVID-19 – improving survival, shortening hospital stay, andreducing the need for mechanical ventilators."
Roche's drug division chief Bill Anderson said lastweek that previous mixed results were likely due to differencesin the type of patients studied, when they were treated, and theendpoint - the juncture at which success or failure is measured.
"We think we're sort of zooming in on both the most relevantendpoints and relevant patient population," Anderson said. "Itseems like the ideal candidates are patients who are really inthat acute phase of inflammatory attack."
Actemra, along with Sanofi's similar drug Kevzara, was authorized by Britain's NHS in early January for COVID-19patients in intensive care units after preliminary data from asmaller study called REMAP-CAP indicated it could reducehospital stays by about 10 days.
During 2020, Actemra rose to become Roche'sfifth-best-selling drug, at more than $3 billion, with nearly$600 million from COVID-19 treatment.(Reporting by Kate Kelland in LONDON, with additional reportingby John Miller in ZURICH. Editing by David Evans)

Georgia SOS: 35 voter fraud cases referred for criminal prosecution
The Secretary of State's Office confirmed Thursday that the Board referred 35 cases to the attorney general or to local district attorneys.
“Election fraud is not tolerated in Georgia. When there is evidence of it, the people responsible face prosecution,” said Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, chairman of the five-member board.
The SOS investigation department has 23 officers who have experience as investigators as well as the power to arrest. They work to investigate claims of voting fraud and then hand their findings over to the board. The board can then issue fines, a letter of instruction, or send a case to be prosecuted.

Dark matter is a scientific construct explaining why galaxy don't fly apart due to rotating stars & missing mass to hold it together by gravity. Nassim Haramein's unified theory gives a better answer. Protons are mini black holes connected to one other…

Over a billion people in China and millions around the world celebrate Lunar New Year, which begins February 12 in Asia (February 11 in the west). The start of the holiday coincides with the date of new moon in Asia, which falls this year on February 12 (the exact time is February 11, 2021, at 19:08 UTC). Countries in Asia celebrating Lunar New Year include China, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines. It’s also celebrated in Chinatowns and Asian homes around the world. It’s considered a time to honor deities and ancestors and to be with family. Each year is associated with one of 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac. 2021 is the Year of the Ox.

New York Stock Exchange Threatens to Leave NYC Over Transfer Tax
The president of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) claims that she may be forced to move trading operations to a more tax-friendly locale if the state legislature imposes a stock transfer tax, according to an op-ed published yesterday in The Wall Street Journal.
As many financial firms open new offices in states like Tennessee, Florida and Texas, NYSE President Stacey Cunningham argued that New York’s temple of commerce may follow suit if the stock transfer tax is passed. She pointed out that the securities industry generated 18 percent of state tax collections last year. However, that share could decline significantly if a new stock transfer tax drives firms away from the city.
The stock transfer tax is not a new concept. It originally took effect in 1905 and was effectively eliminated in 1981 when the state instituted a 100 percent rebate on the tax. The Citizens Budget Commission recently found that if the transfer tax had been reinstated last year, it would have generated $4 billion, significantly less than advocates’ annual projections of $13 billion in potential tax revenues.
The idea of the transfer tax is also somewhat outdated. The levy only applies to trades that occur in New York state. With most stock trades happening online, it can be difficult to tell where a transaction occurred. Most of the NYSE’s servers are already located outside of the city in Mahwah, N.J.

7 arrested for alleged bomb-making and plotting terrorist attack in Denmark
Police in Denmark and Germany have arrested seven people for allegedly trying to manufacture explosives and plotting terrorist attacks, the Danish Security and Intelligence Service (PET) said in a statement on Thursday.
All seven have been charged with planning one or more terrorist attacks or attempting to participate in terrorism.
The men allegedly procured components to make bombs and other weapons, the statement said.
Police in Denmark's Central and West Zealand region – home to the capital Copenhagen – detained six of the men in raids between February 6 and 8. The other suspect from the group was held in Germany.
The six arrested in Denmark are set to attend a pretrial court hearing on Thursday in the town of Holbæk.
"PET takes this type of case very seriously. It is our opinion that there are people who have the intention and capacity to commit terrorist attacks in Denmark," a spokesperson said.
They added that the risk of terrorist attacks in Denmark is considered "serious" and that the arrests would not change the state's current threat level.
Police and intelligence officials are scheduled to hold a press conference on Friday morning, they said.

Instagram bans Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for sharing 'debunked' vaccine claims as Facebook takes major steps to silence misinformation
So it begins
Instagram removed Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s account on Wednesday as part of parent company Facebook's latest effort to purge its platforms of what it considers to be "false claims" about the coronavirus and vaccines.
In a statement, according to CNN, a Facebook spokesperson said, "We removed this account for repeatedly sharing debunked claims about the coronavirus or vaccines."
The spokesperson reportedly added that the tech giant has no plans "at this time" to take down Kennedy's Facebook account, which boasts more than 300,000 followers.
Kennedy, the son of former U.S. Attorney General and Sen. Robert F. Kennedy and the nephew of former President John F. Kennedy, is a well-known vaccine skeptic who regularly uses his social media platforms to speak out against vaccinations. He has lobbied Congress to grant exemptions to parents who live in states where vaccines for children are mandatory, CNN reported.
Kennedy, a lifelong Democrat, is the founder of the nonprofit Children's Health Defense, an organization that expresses doubts about the health benefits of vaccines. He has regularly voiced concerns over an alleged connection between vaccines and autism in children.
What's the background?
Kennedy's ban from Instagram is the highest-profile move by Facebook since the tech company initiated its clampdown on vaccine and COVID-19 "misinformation" earlier this week.
On Monday, Facebook announced in a newsroom update that, after consultation with the World Health Organization and other leading health agencies, it is "expanding" efforts "to remove false claims on Facebook and Instagram about COVID-19, COVID-19 vaccines and vaccines in general during the pandemic."
As a part of the effort, the company indicated it would no longer simply "downrank" objectionable content but would remove from its platform misinformation about the coronavirus and vaccines, such as claims that the virus was manufactured in a lab, that vaccines are not effective, that it's safer to get the disease than to receive the vaccine, and that in general, vaccines are toxic, dangerous, or cause autism.
Anything else?
The action against Kennedy appears to prove that Facebook was not bluffing when it announced the new effort. It also indicates that the social media giant intends to dig its heels in even as it and several other similar companies are under intense scrutiny for censorship practices.
Whether you agree with Kennedy's claims or not, the fact that he can be so easily silenced should be concerning to any American who cherishes the right to free speech.

China Bans BBC after U.K. Strips CGTN License
Chinese Communist Party-run media outlet Global Times announced that BBC World News would be banned from airing in the country for “falsified reporting.”
The move comes less than a week after Britain’s top media regulator revoked the broadcasting license for China Global Television Network (CGTN) – another state-run media outlet.
Global Times tweeted on February 11th that the BBC’s Beijing Bureau had engaged in a “slew of falsified reporting on issues including Xinjiang and China’s handling of COVID19.”
“Fake news is not tolerated in China,” the tweet adds.
The move comes on the heels of a Global Times piece arguing for the Chinese Communist Party “to hit back at BBC for repeated fake reports.”
The article hyped the opinions of Li Haidong, a professor at the Institute of International Relations at China Foreign Affairs University, who said that “BBC’s concoction of fake news reflected the inherent mindset and habit of racism in the West, and a consistent pride and prejudice in British and US policy toward China, seriously influencing their understanding of the nation.
“We may consider revoking BBC’s license in China as the news agency keeps making rumors,” Li forewarned.

Total Jobless Claims Jump Past 20 Million While Democrats Push Impeachment
The number of Americans receiving unemployment benefits for the week ended January 23 jumped 2.6 million to 20.4 million, data from the Labor Department showed Thursday.
Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell on Wednesday raised the alarm about the labor market, saying that the real unemployment rate was probably as high as 10 percent rather than the official 6.4 percent. He called for a “society-wide” effort to bring the labor market back to the strength it had pre-pandemic.
Yet on the Democrat-controlled Capitol Hill, lawmakers this week have been focused on impeaching former President Donald Trump. The Biden White House’s pandemic relief proposal has been sidelined while the Senate trial continues.
There are 5.1 million Americans on regular state unemployment benefits. An additional 8.7 million are receiving benefits under the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance program, which is available to freelancers and self-employed workers. Nearly 4.8 million are receiving benefits under the Pandemic Emergency program and 1.6 million under the extended benefits program.
A year ago, before the pandemic struck, there were just 2.2 million Americans receiving unemployment benefits.

Farage: We Are Fast Becoming a Police State
Brexit leader Nigel Farage has criticised Health Secretary Matt Hancock for being “drunk on his own power” after introducing a law making it a criminal offence to lie about having travelled from a coronavirus ‘red list’ nation, which could result in ten years in prison.
The health secretary announced the new measures on Tuesday, putting the potential sentence on a par with prison terms handed out for serious crimes such as poisoning or making threats to kill.
Reform UK leader Nigel Farage reacted to the remarkable development in Britain’s coronavirus strategy, saying: “The Coronavirus Act allows ministers to take the most draconian decisions without due process or a vote in parliament. It is a threat to civil liberties.”
10 years in prison for going on holiday?
The government has gone too far this time.
Power without accountability. pic.twitter.com/rp4dh48OHr
— Nigel Farage (@Nigel_Farage) February 10, 2021
Mr Farage reminded Britons during a YouTube broadcast on Wednesday that he had warned the government was “taking far too much power” and eroding Britons’ liberties for several months, but that “all of this went a step too far” following Hancock’s “diktat”, saying the health minister had become “completely drunk on his own power”.
“We are fast becoming a police state,” Mr Farage later remarked.
Former Supreme Court Justice Jonathan Sumption had also warned that government ministers’ ability to force through new measures and police expanded powers to enforce it made Britain increasingly look like a “police state”.
Farage further criticised the government’s hypocritical approach to border control, where that while last year “they couldn’t care less about our borders” and allowed 18 million people to arrived unchecked in the three months up to the first lockdown, Britons are now ordered to quarantine in hotels for ten days if they have come from any of the dozens of “red list” nations at a cost of £1,750 per person for accommodation, travel, and testing.
Minister Says UK Govt Discussing ‘Internationally Recognised’ Corona Passport for Global Travel https://t.co/CARmcCK7aa
— Breitbart London (@BreitbartLondon) February 11, 2021
He also remarked on the complete lack of parity in treatment between legal arrivals — threatened with costly hotel confinement or arrest — and illegal aliens who continue to arrive across the English Channel to be put up at taxpayers’ expense.
“There is one exception to all of this: if you come into the UK illegally by dinghy across the English Channel on the next calm day, the fact that you’ve got no documentation, the fact you’ve not had a PCR coronavirus test in the previous three days, none of that will matter. You will still get put into a hotel. The difference is: nobody will charge you £1,700 for the privilege.
“If ever there was a moment to start dealing with illegal immigration, surely it’s now. If we’re going to get tough with our borders, is this not the moment to say, ‘We will not accept people coming criminally into the United Kingdom and posing a massive coronavirus risk’?” he said.
The Reform UK leader also said that while he could understand the government providing documentary proof of vaccination so that Britons could use it to enter foreign countries demanding it, “what I don’t want, is for us to finish up with people in the street being stopped asked to produce their papers to prove they’ve been vaccinated. With this government as out of control as it is as we’ve seen in the last 24 hours, I think any of these things are possible.”
“This is about our liberties. This is about our freedoms. The more power central government takes, the more difficult it is to get those freedoms back,” he warned.

How fitting…the Cthulhu coin.
Wall Street Admits Curing Diseases Is Bad for Business
Goldman Sachs has outdone itself this time. That’s saying a lot for an investment firm that both helped cause and then exploited a global economic meltdown, increasing its own wealth and power while helping to boot millions of Americans out of their homes.
But nowGoldman Sachs is openly saying in financial reports that curing people of terrible diseases is not good for business.
I wish this were a joke. It sounds like a joke. In fact, I’ll show you later that it used to be one of my favorite jokes. But first, the facts.
In a recent report, a Goldman analyst asked clients: “Is curing patients a sustainable business model?” Salveen Richter wrote: “The potential to deliver ‘one-shot cures’ is one of the most attractive aspects of gene therapy. … However, such treatments offer a very different outlook with regard to recurring revenue versus chronic therapies. … While this proposition carries tremendous value for patients and society, it could represent a challenge for genome medicine developers looking for sustained cash flow.”
Yes, a Goldman analyst has said outright that curing people will hurt their cash flow. And he said that in a note designed to steer clients away from investing in cures. Can “human progress” have a bottom? Because if so, this is the bottom of so-called human progress—down where the mud eels mate with the cephalopods. (Or at least that’s how I picture the bottom.)
This analyst note is one of the best outright examples I’ve ever seen of how brutal our market economy is. In the past, this truth would not have been spoken. It would’ve lived deep within a banker’s soul and nowhere else. It would’ve been viewed as too repulsive for the wealthy elite to say, “We don’t want to cure diseases because that will be bad for our wallet. We want people to suffer for as long as possible. Every suffering human enriches us a little bit more.”
We’re circling the drain in the toilet bowl, and as you know, the contents speed up as they near the end, the event horizon. We are beginning to see more and more how disgusting a profit-above-all-else economy really is. When Donald Trump bombed Syria, the stocks of weapons contractors shot up. That spike in stocks is a spike in the gravity of capitalism, pulling people toward death and destruction. Profit has power. And its power is exerted on the society as a whole.
Furthermore, there is no debate about this on your mainstream outlets. There is no discussion as to whether war profiteering is what we really want out of our society. None. You tell me: How many perfectly coiffed CNN or Fox News hosts stated: “Weapons contractors benefited from our bombing. Isn’t that revolting? Doesn’t that just make you gag in your soup? Doesn’t that mean we’ve created an upside-down system that rewards barbaric bullshit?”
You will not hear that discussion. You’re more likely to hear them discuss the best blind pingpong player to ever star in a short film about self-harm. Hard news topics do not see the light of day on our suffocated corporate airwaves.
And believe it or not, the Goldman note gets even worse. The analyst says, “In the case of infectious diseases such as hepatitis C, curing existing patients also decreases the number of carriers able to transmit the virus to new patients. …”
Decreases the number of carriers? Goldman Sachs … is in a financial partnership … with fucking infectious diseases.
Let that sink in. Sit with that and decide whether you want to keep your seat on spaceship earth. I’ll wait.
When I first read about this—after I stopped choking on my tongue—I realized it made more sense than I first thought. I’ve always felt Lloyd Blankfein had a striking resemblance to Hepatitis C. But it turns out he just works with Hepatitis C. They’re just really close friends and business partners. (But I heard Ebola is the godfather to his kids.)
Our aggressive strain of unfettered capitalism has blasted beyond satire in many ways. In one of my favorite Chris Rock specials, “Bigger & Blacker,” which I first saw when I was a teenager, he had a joke that blew my mind. He said something like, “They ain’t never gonna cure AIDS. They ain’t never gonna cure AIDS. There’s too much money in it. The money’s not in the cure. The money’s in the comeback! The money’s in the comeback.”

Bill would cut over 100,000 DoD jobs
New legislation would require the Department of Defense to cut its civilian workforce by 15 percent by 2025, a move that would result in the elimination of over 100,000 federal jobs based on current numbers.
The bill, introduced by Rep. Ken Calvert, R-Calif., Feb. 9 and titled the Rebalance for an Effective Defense Uniform and Civilian Employees Act, would enable the secretary of defense to use voluntary separation and early retirement incentives to encourage that reduction in the coming years.
But that voluntary grace period would be short lived, as the bill mandates that the secretary must initiate involuntary separations by October 2021 if the 15 percent reduction is not met voluntarily. The proposed legislation would only impact civilian employees, not uniformed service members.
According to Office of Personnel Management separation data, on average between 2015 and 2019, just under 82,000 employees left DoD jobs each year, meaning that a standard year’s departures without any new hires would not be enough to voluntarily have the agency meet the 15 percent reduction.
The civilian Senior Executive Service positions at the agency would also be capped at 1,000, and all workforce caps would remain in place until 2029.
In an interview, Calvert said he expects a flat defense budget under President Joe Biden, and while he’s open to “responsible reductions,” he’s averse to cutting uniformed personnel. He believes he can accomplish the cuts through attrition and not firings.
“Like everything else in government, personnel is your biggest cost, and the civilian-to-uniform ratio … is an all time high,” Calvert said. “Our inability to correct that trend is is eating away at our military, our procurement our readiness, all the above, and so we need to do this.”
There are currently around 1.3 million active-duty military personnel and over 768,000 federal employees working across the DoD components.
The legislation is based on a 2015 report produced by the Defense Business Board, which recommended that the DoD could save significant funds by reducing back-office bureaucracy and waste over the course of five years.
That document recommended pushing a modest early retirement option and limiting the backfill of positions that become vacant due to attrition and retirement.
That report was ultimately buried by agency leadership at the time, though a December 2016 Washington Post investigation uncovered the report and fears within the Defense Department that its contents would cause Congress to cut defense budgets.
According to the report, using retirement and attrition at the DoD to reduce the workforce would result in approximately $46 billion in savings for the agency. The remaining $79 billion in savings could be realized by making changes to federal contracts and IT practices.
Calvert’s bill, though purported to save the full $125 billion promised in the DBB report, only directly addresses the proposed workforce reduction.
The Washington Post article notes that the Army, for example employed approximately 199,661 full-time contractors at an average cost of $189,188 per contractor at the time of the report.

Victoria, Australia, makes it illegal to not affirm gender dysphoria
Once signed by the Victoria governor-general for royal assent, new legislation passed by the Victorian parliament in Australia will prohibit anything other than full affirmation for child transgenderism.
Known as “Change or Suppression (Conversion) Practices Prohibition,” the bill will make it illegal to try to change or suppress a person’s perceived sexual orientation or gender identity, even if that person seeks out treatment and consents to it.
Similar to a bill passed in Queensland last year, the Victorian legislation prohibits all “harmful practices” that might offend someone in the LGBTQP community. Such practices include “carrying out a religious practice, including but not limited to, a prayer-based practice, a deliverance practice or an exorcism.”
Violators of the law, which will take 12 months to come into effect, could face penalties that include fines of up to $200,000 and up to 10 years in prison.
Even a priest merely praying for his parishioner might be deemed as an offender, which is what prompted Monica Doumit, the Director of Public Affairs for the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney, to write a column for The Catholic Weekly about how the new law will impact people of faith.
“A parent whose five year old son was insisting that he was a girl would be prevented from seeking any help – medical, psychological, behavioural, spiritual, social or otherwise – to assist their son in understanding and accepting that he was a boy,” she writes.
“Anything less than affirmation of him as a girl would be prohibited.”
Victorian government ignores research proving “life-saving benefits” of counseling for gender dysphoria
Doumit goes on to explain that mental health interventions will also be prohibited, forcing those who are suffering from unwanted gender dysphoria or same-sex attraction to fend for themselves.
“Christian teenagers who had committed themselves to saving sexual activity for marriage would be prohibited from gathering together to support each other to remain faithful to their commitment to chastity,” Doumit further warns.
“Not only would Courage, a ministry for those Catholics experiencing same-sex attraction but who want to live chastely in accordance with their religious beliefs be banned, the teaching of Theology of the Body would not be allowed, and it is even possible that preaching the same verse from Corinthians that got [Australian Rugby star] Israel Folau sacked could get a cleric imprisoned.”
A religious man who is tempted to cheat on his wife would likewise be prohibited from seeking out the counsel of his priest or minister. The same goes for a psychologist who might try to “convert” a pedophile away from preying on innocent children.
Perhaps the saddest element of the legislation is the total prohibition on those suffering from unwanted LGBTQP attractions from seeking out help. Many former LGBTQPs say the counsel they received was invaluable in helping them to heal and live the lives they actually wanted to live.
“Ten years ago I voluntarily sought counsel from Christian psychologists, ministries, support networks and people who had walked before me,” says Leah Gray, a self-identified ex-lesbian who was helped as a gender dysphoric child by the resources and ministries that Victorian politicians are trying to abolish.
“It was difficult, but I found relief and happiness. Every step of my journey will become illegal under the Victorian government’s [bill].”
