Pranksters show how horrifying Boston Dynamics’ police robot dog is by strapping a paintball gun to it
The internet will get a chance to remotely control one of Boston Dynamics’ $75,000 “Spot” robots this week thanks to a mysterious startup company. Not only that, the robot will even come equipped with a paintball gun for added mayhem…..
MSCHF says it let Boston Dynamics know its intentions for Spot after the robot was successfully delivered to its headquarters. Boston Dynamics, according to MSCHF, offered them two additional Spot robots for free if they agreed to call off the campaign.
"We talked with Boston Dynamics and they HATED this idea. They said they would give us another TWO Spots for FREE if we took the gun off," MSCHF said. "That just made us want to do this even more and if our Spot stops working just know they have a backdoor override built into each and every one of these little robots."
Speaking with the Daily Dot, a Boston Dynamics representative stated that MSCHF initially claimed the robot would be used for some sort of art project. Months later, after being told of the plans for Spot's Rampage, Boston Dynamics suggested to MSCHF other alternatives, such as using an attachable arm that would allow Spot to use a paintbrush instead.

Professor of vaccinology at Wits University Shabir Madhi says there is nothing untoward about the funding received from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for COVID-19 vaccine trials.
Professor Madhi was speaking to Radio Islam on Tuesday following Wits University’s announcement that it has launched its second COVID-19 vaccine trial, testing an experimental shot made by US biotech company Novavax.
The trial is supported in part by a $15-million or about R261-million grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
While there are many sceptics and assumptions within the Muslim community about vaccination in general and also about the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Professor Madhi says there are no strings attached to the funding or any benefits to big pharmaceutical companies.
“I’ve been a recipient of grants from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for almost fifty years and at no space was any thought of strings attached to any of those grants. Those grants are things which the foundation use to fund programmes that will be of great benefit to people that live in (Mohammedan) countries and African continents as well as South Asia. That is the mission of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in terms of this global ask.”
Professor Madhi says while South Africa is in the top 5 in the world for COVID-19 infections and there is now a decline in cases, the number of people infected with Coronavirus was underreported."

Shabir Madhi is professor of vaccinology at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. He also holds the positions of director of the South African Medical Research Council Respiratory and Meningeal Pathogens Research Unit and he is research chair in vaccine preventable diseases at the Department of Science and Technology at the National Research Foundation. He is the immediate past director of the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (2011 to 2017), and he currently serves as the chair of the National Advisory Group on Immunization in South Africa.
Author of more than 350 scientific publications, his research focus has been on epidemiology and clinical development of vaccines against pneumonia, diarrheal disease, and for maternal immunization. These studies have been pivotal to informing WHO and SAGE policy on the use of such vaccines in low-middle income countries. He has served as a temporary consultant/technical adviser to WHO in the field of pneumonia and vaccines.
His scientific awards include European Society for Infectious Diseases Young Investigators Award (2006), as well as a number of national awards, including the 2009 National Science and Technology Forum: TW Kambule Award (2009), National Research Foundations President’s Award: Transformation of the Science Cohort (2010), Medical Research Council Lifetime Award platinum medal (2013), and the European and Developing Countries Clinical Trial Partnership Award for Scientific Leadership (2016). He is an elected member of the Academy of Science of South Africa (2012) and the Royal Society of South Africa (2016), and in 2017 he was elected as a fellow of the World Academy of Sciences.
