Pentagon ‘assessing systems’ after TENS OF THOUSANDS of servers compromised in global MS hack.

The US military is reviewing its networks following a hacking spree linked to a vulnerability that gave backdoor access to tens of thousands of Microsoft Exchange servers, in a massive attack the company has blamed on China.

 

“We are aware of the Microsoft threat intelligence center’s report. We are currently assessing our networks right now for any evidence of impact,” Pentagon press secretary John Kirby told reporters at a Friday presser. “We’re also taking all necessary steps to identify and remedy any possible issues related to the situation.”

India threatens to jail Facebook, WhatsApp & Twitter staff over refusal to wipe data

 

Indian authorities have reportedly given an ultimatum to US social media platforms, threatening jail time for their local employees if the companies continue to ignore official takedown requests against “damaging” information.

 

Facebook, WhatsApp and Twitter have each received written notices warning their employees could face arrest should the requests be ignored, in some cases citing specific India-based staff by name, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday, citing “people familiar” with the matter.

Twitter boss Jack Dorsey is selling first-ever tweet

 

The first post on Twitter that appeared on its co-founder and current CEO Jack Dorsey’s account in 2006 is up for sale as an NFT, a nonfungible token. Some social media enthusiasts are ready to spend a fortune on it.

 

Dorsey’s almost 15-year-old message “just setting up my twttr” attracted whopping offers after he posted a link to a tweets marketplace called Valuables on Friday. The intense bidding war put the Twitter co-founder’s post at $363,000 as of Saturday morning (around 8am GMT).
