Lettuce is so insanely easy to grow. You have a container plant just tgrow some seed down around base. You dont want to bury it, like grass seed it will take off. Bonus? Cut the leaves back when they are this size down to an inch or 2 of leaves left above base, let them grow back and repeat till leaves are bitter like Jen Psucki.. and then let them bolt (go to seed) And then once seeds form and and dry, you will never buy lettuce seed of that cultivar again.
