CDC closely tracking Monkeypox outbreak

 

FORT MYERS, Fla. — The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is closely tracking a new disease that’s spreading in the U.S. – Monkeypox. The 2021 Monkeypox Outbreak began on July 9 after a Texas man traveled from Lagos, Nigeria to Atlanta on an airplane, before landing in Dallas.

 

Since then, the CDC says there are more than 200 cases in 27 different states.

Another candidate for fearmongering. Spread via respiratory droplets from infected or direct contact with secretions and/or the sick monkey. 10 percent mortality rate, protection if you have had the small pox vaccine. And it looks ugly as hell. 7-14 day incubation, fever and malaise then onto the buboes or blisters. Dime sized all over. 4 to 5 weeks to run the course and recover. No real treatments except the small pox vaccine of which stocks are vanishingly small,because small pox was eradicated.
