Patrick King has been trending on twitter due to a viral video where it is claimed that the province of Alberta rolled back on their lockdown measures as a result of Patrick’s court proceedings and this is not true as Patrick states “I Wasn’t Successful, No I did Not Win The Court Case”. In this video Dan Dicks of Press For Truth speaks with Patrick King in order to clear up some discrepancies in regards to what is happening with his case.

No, one Alberta man DID NOT end the lockdown and mask mandate

https://www.rebelnews.com/no_one_alberta_man_did_not_end_the_lockdown_and_mask_mandate

A viral video has been circulating online where it is alleged an Alberta man single-handedly ended the province's lockdown and mask mandates because public health could not provide proof that COVID-19 existed.

In a classic case of something sounding too good to be true, the actual story is more complicated than a headline suggests.

On today's Rebel News DAILY Livestream, hosts David Menzies and Sheila Gunn Reid took a look at this interview, involving an appearance by Patrick King on the Stew Peters Show.

Explaining how this wasn't the silver bullet that ended Alberta's lockdowns, Sheila Gunn Reid said:

No disrespect intended, but I want to first point out the timeline of all of this here… Now if you know the masking and basically the end of our lockdown [in Alberta] was July first. This court case transpired roughly on July 19, so that Stew Peters would attribute [ending the mandates] to Pat King, I don't think is accurate or fair and Pat King's court case didn't do any of that.

But I actually took the time to read the transcript of what went down in court that day and I also read the originating documents from Alberta Health Services about what went down.

Now, in that video, Pat King says that AHS has no material evidence that COVID-19 exists. It says the chief medical officer has no material evidence and in the video he presents this as, and I don't know if this is intentional or otherwise, that means there is no evidence that COVID-19 exists.

Now, that's not the case. It may be the case, it may not be the case. But that's not what that statement means. Material, in legal jargon, means relevant evidence.

Released Emails Completely Expose WaPo 'Fact-Checker' Glenn Kessler

This may be my favorite story in a while. Being a writer on the conservative side of things, we obviously deal with bias in media on a daily basis. If we aren’t writing about it, we are being targeted by it, especially in regard to social media. So when a story comes along that good and fully exposes how the sausage is made at major “news” organizations, it’s extremely satisfying to see.

Enter Glenn Kessler of The Washington Post. Emails have been released from someone the “fact-checker” contacted in the process of trying to orchestrate a hit piece against major CRT opponent Christopher Rufo. What they contain is a fascinating look into how the dishonest hacks at these supposed journalistic outfits operate.

Before I even get into the meat of this takedown, I just want to point out how dumb this “fact-check” is in the first place. Kessler was really going to write a piece about how Rufo was supposedly lying about where he heard about Critical Race Theory? Of all the lies flowing within political life right now, including those coming every single day from the White House, that is what he thinks is newsworthy? That alone is enough to demonstrate the abject bias on display.

Yet, the email gets much worse. We then see Kessler trying to drive a wedge between Karlyn Borysenko (to whom the email was sent) and Rufo, with the claim being made that Rufo had “falsely” said he had an anonymous tipster and that he had stolen the idea from Borysenko. Kessler presents that claim as fact in the email despite not having proven it yet. It’s clear he wasn’t aware of who he was dealing with as he tried to set up this hit piece.

Luckily, Borysenko is an honest actor and put Kessler in his place by making this public. She confirmed that Rufo had the same source and that he had not stolen the idea from her. She also seemed to take offense at the idea that Rufo’s work is spinning a false “anti-white” narrative.

Once that embarrassing email went public, Kessler responded, upset that he and his tactics had been exposed.

WISCONSIN: Rep. Janel Brandtjen Issues Subpoenas to Audit 2 Counties

Wisconsin’s Election Committee Chairman Janelle Brandtjen issued subpoenas this morning to Brown and Milwaukee Counties.

On Monday, The Gateway Pundit reported that in the next week or two, we can expect Wisconsin to finally get the ball rolling on an election audit.

Today, OANN’s Political Correspondent Christina Bobb reported big news out of Madison, Wisconsin.

I just received confirmation just a few minutes ago that as you mentioned, chairman of the election committee here in the assembly in Wisconsin Janel Brandtjen has issued subpoenas this morning to both Brown County and Milwaukee County. Milwaukee County is obviously where Milwaukee is in Brown County is Green Bay, and she’s heard from many of her constituents and many people around Wisconsin saying that they want an audit and they want to see what’s happening in their elections here in Wisconsin and they just want to take a look and see what happened and so she issued those subpoenas, so it looks like we will see an audit. This is the same approach that Arizona took to subpoena the counties and ask them to turn over the information, and that happened this morning.

Well quite appropriately there is a rally to audit the vote here at the capitol in Wisconsin, we certainly came here to cover the rally and found out that the subpoenas were issued, so maybe it’s fitting maybe the rallies are working, I’m not sure but we will see here in a couple of hours. There are supposed to be a couple of hundred People gathering to ask the assembly and ask the Senate here in Wisconsin to actually take a closer look at the vote. so to Janel Brandtjen will be able to speak and say we delivered the subpoenas this morning we are taking a closer look, I expect to hear from former Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke on some of the initiatives that he and his organization are taking and I understand that there’s a handful of other speakers that are coming out already. There’s people out front, starting to gather to get excited and really just to champion the cause of election audits election integrity, and really most importantly election transparency, they want to know what transpired. So that’s going to be taking place here at the Capitol local time from noon to 1:30.

Brace For Astronomical Shipping Costs As China Goes Into Lockdown Mode

https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/brace-astronomical-shipping-costs-china-goes-lockdown-mode

With the latest weekly update of container shipping rates showing that prices - already at all time high - simply refuse to back down, as rates from China to the US surpassing a record $20,000, a new threat looms which could send already sky high prices into orbit. As the delta variant spreads on the mainland, most Chinese ports are now requiring a Covid test for all crew, with vessels forced to remain at anchor until negative results are confirmed, and requiring ships to quarantine for 14-28 days if they previously berthed in India or changed crew within 14 days of arriving.

That spells further delays, further price increases and, according to Splash, shipping will need to start to make contingency plans should China - the world’s most important nation for shipping movements - emerge as another pandemic epicenter.

The delta variant has broken through the country’s virus defences, which are some of the strictest in the world, and reached nearly half of China’s 32 provinces in just two weeks. While the overall number of infections — more than 360 so far — is still lower than Covid resurgences elsewhere, the wide spread indicates that the variant is moving quickly with many millions of Chinese now in lockdown.

“For freight markets, the implications include delays at ports as authorities screen crews of incoming vessels and a hit to China’s oil demand if widespread lockdowns are imposed,” a report from Braemar ACM pointed out this week.

When a Covid-19 outbreak was detected at Yantian Port in late May, operations at the key southern Chinese export hub were slashed by 70% for most of June. Similar disruptions are in the cards in the coming weeks, while shipyards are also likely to see their delivery schedules come under pressure if any wider lockdown measures are taken. Shipping Urged to Review LNG Use as Methane’s Role in Climate Change is Revealed

August 6, 2021

By Nick Savvides (The Loadstar) –

Members of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), a body of scientists and others from 195 countries, will launch the first of four reports on Monday, which is expected to highlight the growing influence of methane in the warming of the atmosphere.

Methane is a key component of liquefied natural gas (LNG), the supposedly cleaner and more efficient transition fuel many in the shipping industry believe will provide a stepping-stone to zero-emission transport.

It is also being used increasingly as a replacement for land-based power generation as well as for powering large ships.

CMA CGM has ordered 14 LNG-powered vessels, some of which have already been delivered, and Matson, the US Jones Act operator, has also ordered similar ships. While The Loadstar reported in May that MSC agreed a long-term charter deal with Eastern Pacific Shipping for eleven 15,300 teu LNG dual-fuelled newbuild vessels.

In total there are more than 130 LNG-powered vessels under construction, including more than 40 containerships, according to the shipbroker Gibsons.

CMA CGM’s ships operate on a low-pressure engine design that is more prone to methane slip – where not all the LNG is burnt in the cylinder and methane is released into the atmosphere through the exhaust gases. High-pressure engines suffer less methane slip, but are far more expensive to fit.

Some scientists believe the take up of cleaner high-pressure LNG power plants will not be as great as cheaper low-pressure version, which could cause greater damage to the climate than the carbon emissions the LNG replaces – methane is more than 80 times more potent as a greenhouse gas than carbon.

Meanwhile, other shipowners are contemplating orders for LNG-powered vessels, with advice from organisations such as class society DNV that say LNG can allow carriers to meet the 2030 International Maritime Organization’s 30% reduction in greenhouse gas target.

However, with scientists now concerned about the possible collapse of the Gulf Stream, a key global current that maintains air and sea convection stabilising the global climate, a rethink may well be necessary.

Part of the heightening concern was reported in UK newspaper The Guardian yesterday, which quoted a Germany-based scientist.

“The signs of destabilisation [to the Gulf Stream] being visible already is something that I wouldn’t have expected, and that I find scary,” said Niklas Boers, of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research. “It’s something you just can’t [allow to] happen.”

The destabilisation of the Gulf Stream is one of a number of major irreversible tipping points noted by scientists that would alter substantially alter climatic conditions across the globe.

In addition, the fourth IMO Greenhouse Gas report, published a year ago, highlighted an 86% increase in methane emissions from shipping, even before many larger LNG-powered vessels had been delivered.

If shipping is to play its part in tackling the issues around climate change, it may need to reassess its climate targets and increase the velocity of change in the industry.

The Loadstar is known at the highest levels of logistics and supply chain management as one of the best sources of influential analysis and commentary.

U.S. Cites Conclusive Evidence that Iranian ‘Kamikaze’ Drone Was Used in Tanker Attack

August 6, 2021

By David Wainer (Bloomberg) —

The U.S. cited evidence for the first time Friday to back up its assertion that Iran was behind the deadly drone attack on an Israeli-managed tanker last week.

Multiple parts of the unmanned aerial vehicle that killed two crew members were recovered and “were nearly identical to previously collected examples from Iranian one-way attack UAVs,” Captain Bill Urban, spokesman for U.S. Central Command, said in a statement. “U.S. experts concluded based on the evidence that this UAV was produced in Iran.”

Two other drones targeting the ship were unsuccessful, he said.

Read the Central Command’s report

U.K. and Israeli explosive experts were given access to the evidence and concur with the U.S. findings, Urban said. Iran has denied it was behind the July 29 attack on the Mercer Street tanker off the coast of Oman.

The U.S. statement came as the United Nations Security Council met behind closed doors on Friday to discuss the attack, which the U.K. earlier this week blamed on Iran in a letter to the Council.

Also Friday, the G7 foreign ministers issues a statement concurring that “all available evidence clearly points to Iran.” The representatives from the U.S., U.K., Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan and the European Union’s High Representative said “there is no justification for this attack” and “we will continue to do our utmost to protect all shipping, upon which the global economy depends.”

Tensions have escalated in and around the waterways of the Persian Gulf — vital for the world’s oil markets — in the past week. The U.S. vowed a “collective response” with its allies but hasn’t suggested what form that response will take.

Kamala Harris To Focus On Freedom Of Navigation At Sea

August 4, 2021

By Nandita Bose (Reuters) Vice President Kamala Harris will focus on defending international rules in the South China Sea, strengthening U.S. regional leadership, and expanding security cooperation during her trip to Vietnam and Singapore this month, a senior White House official told Reuters.

Harris will be the first U.S. vice president to visit Vietnam as Washington seeks to bolster international support to counter China’s growing global influence.

The U.S. official said Washington saw both countries as critical partners given their locations, the size of their economies, trade ties, and security partnerships on issues such as the South China Sea, which China claims almost in its entirety.

Former U.S. foe Vietnam has been a vocal opponent of China’s South China Sea claims. Countries in the region largely welcome the U.S. military presence there in the face of China’s militarization of the waterway and its vast coastguard and fishing fleet.

“We do not want to see any country dominate that region or take advantage of the power situation to compromise the sovereignty of others,” the White House official said.

“The Vice President is going to underscore that there should be a free passage for trade, throughout the South China Sea, and no single country should disrespect the right of others.”

The U.S. Navy has maintained a steady pattern of freedom of navigation operations in the South China Sea and near Taiwan but these appear to have done little to discourage Beijing.

Harris’ trip will follow one by Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin last week to Hanoi, where he sought to nudge forward steadily deepening security ties.

It will also follow high-level talks between U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman and senior Chinese diplomats last month that did little to ease deeply strained ties.

This week, Secretary of State Antony Blinken will seek to reinforce the U.S. message that it is serious about engaging with Southeast Asia to push back against China by joining a series of regional meetings held virtually.

Addressing a virtual session of the Aspen Security Forum on Tuesday, Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said high-level U.S. visits were “greatly valued” as they showed Washington knew it had substantial interests to protect and advance in the region.

However, he expressed concern about deteriorating U.S.-China relations and said many countries hoped to see this checked “because many U.S. friends and allies wish to preserve their extensive ties with both powers.”

“It’s vital for the U.S. and China to strive to engage each other to head off a clash, which would be disastrous for both sides, and the world,” he said.

The White House official said the COVID-19 pandemic, vaccinations, and quality of vaccines would also be a top priority for Harris.

Last month, Washington shipped 3 million doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to Vietnam, bringing total donations to Hanoi to 5 million.

Harris is due in Singapore on Aug. 22. She arrives in Vietnam on Aug. 24 and departs on Aug. 26.

If Gov. Cuomo Leaves Office, Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul Would Be Next, And Make History

August 4, 20212:15 PM ET

Should Cuomo be impeached or choose to resign, New York Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul would be next in line and would become the state's first woman to hold the position.

Hochul first leaped to the national stage in 2011 when she ran in a special election for a House of Representatives seat in one of New York's most conservative districts. She served one term before Cuomo selected her to be his running mate. They were sworn in in 2015.

In a statement on Twitter after the report's release, Hochul said she believed the women who accused Cuomo and called his behavior "repulsive" and "unlawful." She said the New York State Assembly will determine the next steps.

She did not call on Cuomo to resign but said: "Because Lieutenant Governors stand next in the line of succession, it would not be appropriate to comment further on the process at this moment."

How Kathy Hochul Went from Cuomo’s Surrogate to Brink of Replacing Him

The lieutenant governor once represented Cuomo all over the state. Now she’s slamming his alleged predatory behavior as “repulsive.” Hochul has gone from Buffalo to the precipice of making history as New York’s first female governor.

BY CLIFFORD MICHELCMICHEL@THECITY.NYC AUG 5, 2021, 8:27PM EDT

Shortly after sexual harassment allegations against Gov. Andrew Cuomo surfaced, his press office stopped regularly publishing the public schedule of his next in line: Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul.

The former member of Congress from Buffalo, who had simply expressed support for the investigation launched by State Attorney General Letitia James, went about her largely powerless job, attending ceremonies and making it a point of pride to visit all of New York’s 62 counties at least once annually.
