Melbourne’s lockdown has been extended for another seven days as authorities scramble to investigate the source of five mystery cases among Wednesday’s 20 new cases. The last Covid death for the state was recorded November 29th, last year.
Officers were deployed outside of Flinders Street station in central Melbourne following reports that protesters would rally there against the 7-week extension.
Although only a few people turned up, video footage shows police dispersing crowds on horseback, another was stopped in the street and questioned why they “weren’t wearing a mask.”

This is your Captain speaking, please remain seated while we duct tape your child to his seat 👀
SKY-HIGH STROP! Unruly 13-year-old boy duct taped to chair after going on tantrum aboard LA-bound flight.
The teen fought with his mother and allegedly attempted to kick out a window aboard an American Airlines, Maui to Los Angeles flight resulting in staff and passengers restraining the child by duct-taping him to his chair.
The incident happened one hour into the flight which quickly diverted to Honolulu where the teen was taken into custody, according to CBS LA.
It’s the most recent incident in past weeks that has seen flight staff result to duct-tape to restrain a passenger. On August 3 a 22-year-old man was restrained with tape after he was accused of groping female staff and punching a male flight attendant.
