This is a great one. At first I assumed it would be one of those "just work harder goy, don't you want to be mr. shekelberg's favorite slave?" titles, but its not that at all. This will probably be one of the few books I actually buy a paper copy of.

>John Watson - Secrets of Modern Chess Strategy
>It is now seventy years since Nimzowitsch wrote his monumental work My System. While it remains a fundamental work on chess strategy, the way chess positions are handled has changed greatly since Nimzowitsch's time - both refinements to existing ideas, and completely new concepts. John Watson's book fulfils the need for a thorough, profound work on the modern handling of chess positions, and how Nimzowitsch's theories - still controversial and revolutionary at the time My System was written - have been refined and used alongside classical concepts.

I'd like to bump this thread.
A self-improvement thread is always a good idea. I believe that all books contribute to this in one way or another. But especially books on self-development and spiritual growth. I recently read the book "The Monk who sold his Ferrari" and was very impressed with it. Therefore, I took this book as the basis for writing work for college. The service helped me with this ………………………………………………………………………..The author explains in a very accessible form the need to develop and grow spiritually and gives some techniques that everyone can try. After reading it, I realized even more how important it is not only financial but also spiritual wealth.
