It may also explain how Los Angeles and specifically Pacific Palisades, situated literally on the coastline of the Pacific Ocean, found themselves running out of water. How do you run out of water for fire fighting when you've got the largest Ocean on earth 200 feet away?
No Diesel-powered pumps to draft water from the sea? The typical fire engine can pump about 1500 gallons per minute!
Hollywood's biggest celebrities are picking up the pieces after discovering their affluent neighborhood was reduced to ash and rubble when the California wildfires tore though Pacific Palisades.
The homes of Anthony Hopkins, John Goodman and Miles Teller among those destroyed, while dozens of other Hollywood movie and TV stars now face an anxious wait alongside their neighbors to learn if anything could be saved.
Residents fled and then waited with bated breath to learn more about their homes, as news began trickling out that entire streets had been wiped off the map, firefighters were running out of water, and resources were being diverted to fight the fire on multiple fronts.
Now, the widespread devastation is becoming clearer as celebrities share their devastation upon discovering they've lost their multi-million-dollar mansions.
Not one word from LA Mayor Karen Bass about the situation.
“Do you owe citizens an apology for being absent whilst their homes were burning? Do you regret cutting the fire department's budget?”
@skydavidblevins questions the mayor of LA, Karen Bass, as she faces backlash regarding the California wildfires.

Every year, it’s the same story. California burns, and fingers are pointed in every direction, climate, drought, winds. But let’s stop dancing around the real issue: forest management (or lack thereof).
For decades, California’s approach has been one of neglect. Overgrown brush, dead trees, and poor preventative measures are essentially tinder waiting for a spark. Add to that bureaucratic red tape that makes proper clearing and controlled burns almost impossible, and you’ve got a recipe for disaster.

You see folks, bad policy can have very awful consequences! Bad leadership can get people hurt and killed! The voters of California are learning this today….. THE HARD WAY.
Not one word from LA Mayor Karen Bass about the situation. Many call for her to be recalled immediately for slashing the fire fighter budgets and lack of leadership.
Fire Chief complained to the LA Mayor last month about budget cuts limiting her dept. The funds were diverted to help aid illegal migration policy.

“The LA fires look like Terrorism… These places are miles apart… Are you supposed to believe that wind teleports a fire miles away but no where in between?” one X use said.
Palisades
Pasadena
Sunset
Studio City
These places are miles apart.
This is why Californians pay the highest taxes: So that their government can completely fail them in their time of need.

There are a number of specific lessons we can draw from the Los Angeles fires, but the over-arching one is that Democrats are no longer capable of governing. Let's look at some of the specific lessons first, and then let Bernie Sanders demonstrate why he and his party should never be put in charge of anything again.
Lesson #1: In matters of life and death decision making, hire based solely on merit… not Marxist DEI fantasy politics.'''
The Los Angeles City Fire Department has an entire "equity" bureau which hopes to "advance DEI within the fire service." Last year, LAFD cut $7 million from the overtime budget, which impacted air operations and disaster response, but kept the DEI department. Insane.

Lesson #2: If you are the mayor of Los Angeles, don't go to Africa when you have been warned that your city is at risk of disaster.
Details and timeline here… https://twitter.com/lhfang/status/1877441609748390329
Lesson #3: Elect people based on experience and competency, not Marxist DEI gender/race non-sense. It's worth noting that conservatives fall prey to this thinking too, sometimes.
Maybe someone with administrative experience would be better than a political commentator.
Lesson #4: Especially if you are in an arid climate, fill your reservoirs when you have the opportunity.
Gavin Newsom diverts 100 billion gallons of water per year away from Southern California and instead dumps it into the Pacific ocean to save delta smelt fish.
Newsom has failed to build reservoirs as required by law.

Lesson #5: Again, especially if you are in an arid climate, clear underbrush in your forests (often, the most practical way to do this is with controlled burns, burning off the kindling before it piles up).
"You've got to take care of the floors." Trump told Newsom years ago to clear out underbrush to prevent fires.
Lesson #6: Enforce laws against vagrancy. There are many reasons to do this, starting with making cities more pleasant, but there's also a safety factor, as bums often set fires.
California fires, often started by mentally ill vagrants, rage because of Democrat policies that restricted forest management and water storage and specifically cut funding for fire departments. But, sure, more top down control by the idiots who created this is the solution. For every problem, leftists propose the least effective solutions.

Commiefornia Keeps On Burning Away As Major Lithium Battery Storage Ignites
Wow, does bad policy and corrupt leadership have some horrific consequences or what?!
Years after cutting fire fighter department budgets, allocating water municipality management to preach Marxist DEI ideologies to public workers, diverting large water reservoirs into the Pacific ocean, refusing to allow loggers to clear up decades worth of abundant dead wood in the forests, and ignoring the constant warnings from public safety workers about the potential for wildfire disasters…. well now that communist shithole State is burning down and it looks like there is no end in sight anytime soon!
If the government's raging wildfires across Los Angeles County weren't enough, Commiefornia faced another crisis overnight as one of the world's largest battery storage facilities, situated about 100 miles south of San Francisco, caught fire, triggering area-wide evacuations.
AP News reported that a fire broke out Thursday at the Moss Landing Power Plant, a natural gas-fired generation plant with thousands of lithium batteries for energy storage. Fires involving lithium batteries, as seen with electric vehicles, are notoriously difficult to extinguish and could burn uncontrollably for days.
"There's no way to sugarcoat it. This is a disaster, is what it is," Monterey County Supervisor Glenn Church told local media outlet KSBW-TV. However, Church did not expect the fire to spread outside the perimeter of the plant.
Local media outlet The Mercury News noted that fires at the Vistra plant, which Vistra Energy owns, and one of the largest battery storage facilities in the world boasting a capacity of 750 megawatts and 3,000 megawatt-hours, experienced fires in 2021 and 2022. The energy storage facility plays a massive role in stabilizing California's power grid.
It's unclear at this point what started the fire. Local authorities evacuated more than 2,000 people around the plant due to concerns over hazardous materials and potential chemical releases.
There's no update yet on the current grid impacts or how operations at the Moss Landing Power Plant are affected. It's another setback for Democrats in their push for a 'green' utopia in a state that seems to be imploding by the week. Well, the communists did get what they voted for at least.

L.A. Fire Chief Kristin Crowley warned Mayor Karen Bass (D) last month the $17+ million she cut from the department's budget "severely limited the department's capacity to prepare for, train for, and respond to large-scale emergencies, including wildfires"
https://x.com/RealSaavedra/status/1877184214296068346
“So here's what's going to happen. All these people who are deep blue Democrats are now going to have to pull a permit to rebuild, and they're going to get the 28 year old bitch from the Coastal Commission telling them to go fuck off and then they're going to vote for Trump or whoever's Trumpian next.
When they start getting the regulation, they're going to go nuts. And when they start running into the bureaucracy and the red tape, they're going to start going nuts and they're going to vote for Rick Caruso next time.
They're going to find out they're going to get bit by their own snake. They're going to convert. I am telling you, these are the bluest people on the planet and they're going to be fucking rip shit pissed when the City and the Coastal Commission tell them to fuck off.”
