Constantly soyjakking yourself is simply not a sustainable business model
The original soyjak images trigger a very basic backbrain predator response (extremely large open eyes, open mouth with visible teeth). Youtubers were exploiting that facial expression intentionally in their thumbnails to get people to click their videos, it was one of those cargo cult psychological "do this for more ad impressions" thing. Some memers noticed this and coopted it onto wojaks and, like a nuclear arms raced, reached a nadir of this "this is the most destructive possible memetic response for the last amount of effort required".
Calling it a rejection of life is pretty apt. It does trigger a sort of schizophrenic dependency because the people who resort to them as "arguments" are entraining their brain to not have anything else to begin with. And so they never get that satisfaction or response that comes from making an enjoyable post, even a shitpost, the way a "fun" pepe would be appreciated. So they are always, always unhappy, and like a drug, the more they use it the unhappier they become. Nothing but a stream of constant resentful all-caps forced laughter to mask the hollowness inside. They can't even really be happy about their recent "success" over 4chan, it's just a bitter pyrrhic victory.

what sucks is now the slow niche interest/fandom stuff is gone. the retro games board on this site has 1 post from an hour ago and the next newest post is 5 fucking years old. there's no substitute for the GOOD parts of 4chan. reddit is never an option, that's not just a my-tribe-good declaration, the entire psychology that makes up that site is an abomination, same goes for the thousands of discords out there, they all make the same fatal mistakes rooted in liberalism/statism: "in order to have nice comfy friendly fun discussions we need to act as brutal totalitarian avenging nanny-state punishers of every discussion and enforce a thousand rules with a heavy hand :) this is how we will keep things fun :):)"
the eternal irony of chan culture is that NOT drowning itself in draconian no-hurt-feelings and respect-others rules makes the overall experience way more free, comfortable, enjoyable, and on-point than the always slightly nervous police state atmosphere that exists on any discord or subreddit.
with 4chan out of the picture there's no place to talk about fun stuff in a cohesive and just-persistent-enough manner with enough feedback and contribution that you weren't waiting a month between post. unless this site grows and thrives which, hey, that'd be great! but it'd also need the hardware and reliability to go with it, and it's already groaning under the weight of 1 day of refugees.
